ABOUT US

Ayurveda Yoga LLC was founded to promote Vegetarianism, Vedic Culture, Sanskrit and provide Ayurveda Workshops, Seminars, Consultation and Ayurvedic Treatment at an affordable price. We decided to add education to our services and started San Diego College of Ayurveda due to a demand from people, who found our website, and wanted to do an affordable, flexible, Ayurveda course, yet not compromise on educational quality. Our courses are based on the first year Curriculum set by Indian Government for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Certification Curriculum Our 500 Hr curriculum meets the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (America)’s requirements.

We have also partnered with Florida Vedic College, a non profit educational institution to provide Associate Degrees.

We also offer certificate programs in 100 hr, 150 hr, 250 hr, and 500 hr modules.

There are also one day workshops, Clinicals, or Intensive programs in Ayurvedic Bodywork, Ayurvedic Nutrition, Ayurvedic Herbology and Ayurvedic Health Educator Programs at a very affordable price.

Training is experiential and case based. Training delivery and methodology is blended, being Classroom, Distant and Web based. Student can pick and choose their own blend of WBT (Web Based Training and Classroom Based Training) for Ayurveda courses. We also aim to provide Internship programs and 10 scholarships a year soon. BAMS doctors have prepared the courses and case studies. However, we continue to add case studies done by our current students to our library. We believe in sharing best practices.

We aim to eventually build an Ayurvedic Ashram in Southern California as a newer non-profit venture as well. We also plan to invite Ayurvedic Physicians from India for regular lectures.

Most Ayurvedic Massage Therapy Workshops, and Online Courses are converted to Online Modules by Curriculum Designers of BAMS from INDIA.

Online facilitation is done by most of these accomplished Ayurvedic professionals.

The courses are suited for new comers with an interest in Vedic Sciences, or will complement the practices of Herbalists, Holistic Health Practitioners, Nutritionists as well as Physical Therapists or Massage Therapists. Day workshops are also suited for learning about how to achieve a balanced health for yourself and your family.

Training Delivery and Methodology

Our goal is to ‘spread VEDIC WELLNESS’. Hence, we are offering courses in a blended format. By using Open source Learning Management Formats like Moodle, we save costs and pass the savings to the student. The student picks and chooses their blend. A course is offered in a distant learning, online as well as classroom format.

A Student can choose which one they want to do most, hence, keeping the costs low and quality high. Course Content is based on Ancient Ayurvedic Texts by Charaka, as well as

Astanga. However, we are sticking to the traditional format of learning and actually giving our own commentary by directly translating the Sanskrit verses. We are also offering a comparison of Traditional Ayurveda versus Modern Modalities as well as how it can be integrated. Some textbooks are suggested for reading and reference by Maya Tiwari, Dr. Vasant Lad and Dr. David Frawley. Ayurvedic Medicine by Sebastian Pole, Books by Dr. John Douillard, Srimad Bhagavad Gita and Teachings of Kapila and Sankhya Philosophy is also part of the course. Training Methodology - Student will receive handouts, a workbook,and there will be online webinars and lectures every month. Private clinicals, Online Whiteboard, videoconferencing option is also available.

Classroom Hours - In the 20 classroom hours, there are 8 LIVE Classroom Hours and or Online Virtual Classes OR any Classroom Workshop and some clinical hours. Four clinical Hours, or internship is dine in the clinic under your teacher.

Ayurvedic Pharmacology and Herbology - 150 HoursIAhrb 101 is a 150 Hr ONLINE course with ‘LIVE’ webinars and video conferencing classes every two weeks. This includes a 4 hr internship with an Ayurvedic Practitioner. Essentially it works out to be 11 hours of LIVE classes, 4 hr internship and the rest to be done at your own time. We also have videos of teachers preparing ghee, infusions, decoctions and herbal wines and jams. We send the DVD by mail when you enroll. A 100 Hour course option is also available.

San Diego College of Ayurveda – Enrollment Form

PAYMENT: Payment for each online/Distant Learning hour is - $6 per hour. Payment for each online hour is $6 per Credit Hour. Classroom hour is - $ 10-12 per hour. Early bird discount of 10% and fexible payment options per month are available.

Student can choose the ‘blend’ of CLASSROOM hours he or she takes over and above the REQUIRED number of classroom hours. The payment can be done in via Cheque, Cash, Credit Card or Paypal. Please note that all courses offered are blended format – mix of classroom, distant learning, online and video conferencing. Classroom workshops and internship options are also available.

90% of the Initial Payment paid by the student is returnable within 5 working days, 50% (of the frst amount student paid) within 3 weeks.

After 3 weeks, payment is not returnable. However, credit can be given, which can be utilized for spa therapies, products or and/other courses. Credits must be used within a year.

Online Courses can be started at anytime. Workshops have fexible schedules and usually happen once a month. Online and live Webinars happen once every 2 weeks.

Private classes and group classes happen in San Marcos or Coronado location depending on availability every month. We suggest an Internet Connexion if you are planning to pursue an online course.

EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL

The cost of educational material in 'printed' format, or, with a three ring binder, that includes color posters is $15. Cost of Herbs, Massage Oils is dependent on the herb. The cost of suggested text books is not included within the fees.

CANCELLATION and MAKE UP SESSIONS.

If you have set up a time with your instructor for a session, and, are a no show, then there will be no make up class. This is why we suggest EMAILING or CALLING 24 hours in advance for cancellation. If you have missed out on a group sessions, a make up session can be done online through SKYPE or WEBINAR once a month.

SHARE, NURTURE, LEARN from PEERS

We believe in sharing best practices, and, encourage you to share with your peers, and, if you want - write blogs and articles for the College's blog, and share discussions in forum at our virtual elearning site, as well as help with College Newsletter. (Even though, this is not part of the course) We also share your assignment with other students, specially, if it is really good! One of our earlier students, is now teaching and is an online instructor.

Students can sign up as volunteers for bodywork or massage class, and, also as case studies for each other, depending on availability.

REFUND POLICY

The Training Institute will refund 90% of the Initial Payment paid for classes not yet attended, by the student is returnable within 5 working days, if the student has not logged in online. If student has logged in the course, then 50% of the amount is returnable.

After 5 working days, from the day of signing this contract, 50% (of the first amount student paid for classes not yet attended online and/or) is refundable.

After 3 weeks, payment is not returnable. However, credit can be given, which can be utilized for spa therapies, products or and/other courses. Credits must be used within a year.

There is a 4 hour internship that student agrees to do for Training Institute as a volunteer. If Training Institute is not able to organize internship, then, student can do externship in any other healing institute or center.
