Introduction to The Great Depression
• Introduce the Great Depression, Dust Bowl, and Migrant worker experience.
• Background info for Of Mice and Men.
• Student’s actively participated in this lesson. The lesson itself was diverse. Students were expected to read, write and speak.
Classroom Management: Respect
• Having older students allows for a mature relationship between teacher and student.
• I always establish a relationship of respect with my students. They are almost adults and I treat them as such.
• I ask for complete honesty and am usually granted it.

• Student Work: My students always provide such creative and diverse interpretations of themes and literature
• Student Presentations: Students have to present often. They are very verbal and eloquent.

• Movement: My classroom movement was static when I first started.
• Questioning: My questions were too surface level.
• Improvements: My comfort in my classroom increased. I started to have fun teaching.
My Future
• Master’s Degree: I want to obtain my Master’s in both education and English.
• Reflection: I intend to continue to reflect on my lessons.
