Sentenced Prisoner Are those convicted by final judgement of the
crimes in which they were charged Detention Prisoner
Are those who are detained for the violation of law or ordinance and have not been convicted

Classification of Sentenced Prisoner
Prisoner A person who is sentenced to serve a prison term
of over 3 years or to pay a fine of more than P1,000.00 or both fine and imprisonment
Provincial Prisoner A person who is sentenced to serve imprisonment
for not more than 3 years or to pay a fine of not more than P1,000.00
Municipal Prisoner A person who is sentenced to serve imprisonment
for not more than 6 months
Degree of Custody of Prisoners Super Security Prisoner
Incorrigible, intractable, and dangerous persons who are difficult to manage that are source of constant disturbance even in maximum security institution
Maximum Security Prisoner Chronic trouble makers but not as dangerous as super
