MAYORAL DROUGHT RELIEF FUND Preamble The Goulburn Mulwaree Council has established a Mayoral Relief Drought Fund to assist farmers in the Goulburn Mulwaree Local Government area suffering from a minimised income and additional costs to feed stock Eligibility Council will define a farmer or farming property as 100 hectares or more and rely on more than 50% of their regular income from “on farm” activity. The property must be located in the Goulburn Mulwaree Local Government Area. The Farm will not be owned by a Corporation but will include family companies and Trusts Council will not ask to review the financial information of any applicant making an application for financial assistance under this Mayoral Drought Relief Fund but rather, will rely on applicants to be honest and trustworthiness. Distribution Working Group The Mayor has chosen the Deputy Mayor and the General Manager to assist him with the distribution of the monies raised. The final decision will by the Mayor Additional Funds The Goulburn Mulwaree Council has allocated $10,000 towards the Mayoral Relief Fund. The Council on behalf of the community would like to acknowledge the work and commitment of other groups who have already contributed to this fund. These include Coles Distribution Centre and their staff Goulburn Mulwaree Rural Fire Service Support Goulburn Friendship Club Goulburn Men’s Shed The Mayor, through the normal Council media outlets, will continue to request additional community support for this fund to ensure that in the second tranche that adequate funds available to support the farming community during this time of hardship. Distribution MethodologyThe funds will be distributed in two tranches as follows

1. The first tranche will be the distribution of pre-paid corporate cards up to the value of $100 to be used at the recipient’s discretion. It will be recommended to recipients that they spend the money at locally owned business’s to assist the cash flow of the local economy. The corporate cards will be distributed between now and Christmas.

2. The second tranche will be distributed after Christmas and will assist funding the cost of domestic water needs to farmers. It is acknowledge that the transport cost of having water distributed can be funded from Federal Government grants.

Applicants will be required to file with Council a simple questionnaire – see attached – in person at Councils Customer Service Counter, via email [email protected] or phoning Council on 4823 4444.
