OVERVIEW – all areas

THE RISKS BELOW ALL HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR SERIOUS OUTCOMES.

THEREFORE, INDIVIDUAL RISK RATINGS HAVE NOT BEEN LISTED BELOW.

Risk Control Measures Further action needed

Regular (initially daily) SLG and COVID-

19 task force meetings in place to

assess advice and apply as the

changes are announced.

B Are changes regularly communicated to staff, pupils, parents and governors?

Emails sent to all staff, pupils, parents

and governors weekly, or more often if

necessary to update them regarding the

ever-changing situation.

C Are changes reviewed by governors?

The Head and Bursar hold regular meetings with the Chair of Governors (at least weekly) and the full Board is updated as necessary.

D Is access to school controlled effectively and are visitor details recorded?

All visitors and contractors must sign in

at the main reception and are asked to

wash their hands if venturing further into

school.

E Are Social Distancing (SD) and other hygiene rules communicated to parents, understood and applied?

SD and hygiene rules are

communicated to parents to keep them

informed of planned procedures in

school.

F Are staff and pupils being reminded and checked to ensure they are complying with hygiene and SD rules?

Protocols explained to staff in each

“bubble” and with each year group.

Pupils in each “bubble” are also

reminded of protocols. Appropriate

signage around the school and taped off

areas to remind everyone about routes

to take and areas to avoid.

Domestic Bursar. Selected cleaning

staff will be un-furloughed. At least two

day cleaners will be on site at any one

time between 9am-4pm to provide

cleaning on an ongoing basis in areas

being used with attention being paid to

high risk areas. They will be given a

schedule by the Domestic Bursar which

will fit in around the school timetable to

enable them to sanitise surfaces in the

classrooms during breaks and other

periods when pupils are not present.

The Domestic Bursar will oversee the

cleaning regime and be the point of

contact to un-furlough additional

cleaners if necessary.

Additional cleaners will clean the areas

being used at the end of each day.

“bubbles” within their year group that they

will remain in for their activities with the

dedicated staff team on the days they are

in school. Where staff cross these, it will

be on separate days OR they will wear

PPE.

They will each have their own

workstation and equipment for the day

that will remain at school. Outside, they

will have their own play equipment that

will remain within their “bubbles” and get

cleaned after each session

14

Year 6 – Pupils will be split into four

“bubbles” that they will remain in for inside

and outside activities with the staff team.

They will each have their own workstation

and equipment for the day that will remain

at school. Outside, they will have their

own play equipment that will remain within

their “bubbles” and get cleaned after each

session

Year 7-9. In order to enable some face to

face provision one tutor class will be on

site at any time. No more than 16 pupils

(25% of the cohort) will be on site at any

time. . Individual classes will be the

responsibility of their form teacher whilst

on site. However, this assumes ALL

pupils come on site. Numbers may in

reality be lower.

Year 10. In order to enable some face to

face provision, Y10 will be treated as a

bubble. No more than 14 pupils (25% of

the cohort) will be on site at any time.

Class sizes will be kept to a maximum of

10 for academic subjects and 14 for tutor

group sessions (1 per tutor group).

15

Outside, they will have their own play

equipment that will remain within their

“bubbles” and get cleaned after each

session.

In general: (Rec / Y1 /2/3/4/5/Y6 / Key

Worker)

Pupils will be assigned a desk/work area

and this is where they will sit whilst in the

classroom.

Pupils will keep their books and school

stationery on their desk. This will only be

used by them.

Pupils will be told to bring in a named

water bottle every day.

freshly washed clothes each day.

Staff – There will be three areas that staff

can access drinks of tea and coffee and

strict protocols will be in place to wipe

down the kettle after use. Only one

person in the area at a time.

Staff will bring in their own lunch and

water bottle. Staff to be encouraged to

also bring in their own flask for a hot

drink. Lunch can be eaten with the pupils

at SD in the classroom or in their “bubble”

5 Should the needs of each age group and class be considered separately in terms of support, activities and facilities?

Nursery – Nursery children will not be

able to socially distance during the large

majority of their day except for meal

times/sleep times due to their age and

understanding. Our focus will be ensuring

that the staff are able to socially distance.

of key groups of children to allow a lower

risk. Additional time has been allocated at

the beginning and the end of the day for

planning and further cleaning.

Bottles of hand sanitiser to be placed in

each room in the Nursery.

Rec /Y1/Y2 – Reception, Year 1 and Year

2 will find the SD challenging. We will

gently remind them and set up activities

that promote it and encourage it. By

spreading them out across the two

classrooms into smaller “bubbles” this will

help.

Year 3/4/5/6 – Pupils will remain SD in

their four “bubbles” inside and out. When

outside they will be encouraged to think of

games to play at SD - hoop/skipping

challenges. Hand washing on a regular

basis will be required and pupils will be

reminded to do this.

Year 7-9 – Pupils will remain SD in their

rooms. When outside they will be

encouraged to SD. Hand washing on a

regular basis will be required and pupils

will be reminded to do this by their form

teacher.
