The Akeru Ensemble is a newly formed chamber group of principal string players from the Dallas Symphony Or-chestra and the Dallas Opera Orchestra, along with pianist Heather Schmidt. AKERU is the Egyptian symbol of two lions facing opposite directions. In Egyptian culture, the two lions were named “yesterday” and “today” (“Sef” and “Tuau”), an appropriate name because all AKERU ENSEMBLE concert programs skillfully connect past and present through innovative programming that combines well-known standard repertoire with some of the most compelling and exciting music of our time. All concerts are held on Sunday evenings at 7:30pm in the sanctuary at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church. 9800 Preston Road, Dallas, Texas, 75230. Rover Dramawerks presents
Private Eyes by Stephen Dietz
A comedy of suspicion in which nothing is ever quite what it seems. Matthew and his wife Lisa have been cast in a play together, and Lisa is having an affair with their director. Or perhaps the affair is a part of the play being rehearsed. Or perhaps Matthew has imagined it, simply to have something to report to Frank,
his therapist. And how does the mysterious Cory fit into the puzzle? Private Eyes is full of surprises. A play within a play within a play within a play within a psychiatrist's office, it's a romantic comedy in which what's
real inevitably turns out to be an illusion.
Vicious, smart fun from America's most famous playwright that you've never heard of, and featuring the talents of Rick Dalton, Julie Reinagel, Michale Sturlin, Cat Hundley and Frank Shirar.
Performances are
January 18 - February 10 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m.
with an additional matinee performance on Saturday, January 27 at 2:00 p.m.

What is Cooperative Arts News?
The Mission: The CAN organization was created for the purpose of helping cooperative member arts organizations build audiences by supporting each other. CAN will send notifications to list mem-bers with news of member organizations' upcoming events and other arts news of interest. The Rules: 1) Since this is a "cooperative" of arts organizations supporting each other, member groups who would like to post notices, agree to "receive" notifications from other member groups in return. Individuals will have the option at any time to "opt-out" if they choose not to receive future notifications by e-mailing the list manager. 2) In order to preserve the integrity and quality of the postings to this list and to prevent any un-wanted "Spamming", all notifications that member groups want to send through this notification list must come through the list manager. Groups simply send an e-mail notification to the list manager with a descriptive write-up and it will be sent. If there are multiple notifications that need to go out, they may be grouped together in "digest" format to reduce the number of e-mails that are sent to the list. If at anytime, you would like to be removed from this e-mail list or if you are a new organization that would like to join, please e-mail the list manager and your request will be acted upon in a timely man-ner. As always, thank-you for supporting the performing arts in the DFW area! Regards, David Witherspoon List Manager [email protected]
