• Select “Become a Participating Contractor”

• In “Step 1”, the program overview lists the rebate equipment requirements and additional information about participation
• Select “Contractor Participation Agreement” to begin your application

Important Documents• Before logging in and starting your application, it is best to compile the required documents and save them to
your computer
• The required documents are as follows:
– A current copy of your Maryland HVACR License
– Signed Contractor Participation Agreement
– W-9 Form
– Certificate of Insurance
• The General Liability coverage needs to be at least $1 million per occurrence
• The certificate holder should be:

• The certificate holder needs to be listed as the additional insured for your General Liability coverage. This can either go in the “Description of Operations” box, or in the “ADDL INSR” column next to General Liability.
• If your Certificate of Insurance does not include Worker’s Compensation and you are excluded from having Worker’s Comp, please fill out and upload a Worker’s Comp exclusion form (available under forms on the contractor participation agreement).
• Once you have your documents ready, select “apply now”

• If you would like additional instructions, select “click here”
• Otherwise, select “begin application” to start your contractor participation agreement

• If you participate in the SMECO, Pepco or Delmarva Power HVAC Rebate Programs, your log in information will be the same for all of them
• Please use the same username and password that were created when your company first signed up to become a participating contractor by submitting a CPA
• If you are a new user, select “Create Account”

• If you selected create account, enter your name, email and a password you will remember
• This email and password will now be your login information for all utility programs

• If you entered your existing login information, select your primary contact
• This is the email that will receive notifications about your account. If it has changed, then select “add new contact”

• To add a new contact, enter the following information and select “submit”
• Remember, the email entered here will receive all notifications and reminders about your account

• Once you have selected your primary contact, select submit

• Once your application has been submitted you will be sent to your Program Application Center
• The application you just submitted will show up under “tasks" as you still need to upload the required documents (HVACR License, W-9 and Certificate of Insurance). Click on the project number to start the upload process.
• Each customer application you submit will have a unique project number
• Be sure to select the right application to upload your documents:
• Project Numbers starting with BGCPPS are contractor applications
• Project Numbers starting with BGVHPS are equipment applications

• Once you’ve selected your application, you will be able to view the following:• Messages: See any notes a rebate processor has left about
your application• Current Tasks: Upload your documents• Forms: Here you can review the information you filled in for
the application• Documents and Files: Your documents you upload will
appear here• Equipment: This will populate once a rebate processor has
approved the equipment type you are applying for

• Once you’ve submitted your application, please keep track of the project number
• A project number is the easiest way for us to look up the application if you contact them with questions about the application
To locate your tasks, select “click here”

• Select the blue disk to upload your files

• Browse and upload the file that you or someone from your company has saved to your computer
• Please do this for each required document in your tasks

• Once you have uploaded the required documents, the tasks will disappear and the files will appear under “Documents & Files”.
• If you run out of spaces to upload documents, please leave a note in the messages section asking for additional spaces to be created.

Common Flaws in Certificate of Insurance
• Error: The General Liability coverage is not at least $1 million per occurrence
• Solution: The program requires the contractor to have at least $1 million per occurrence for your general liability coverage. If the Certificate you uploaded has less than this then please upload a new certificate with the minimum of $1 million per occurrence for general liability.
Common Flaws in Certificate of Insurance
• Error: Certificate Holder is somehow incorrect (it’s completely wrong, has the wrong address, etc.)
• Solution: Be sure the Certificate holder is listed as the following

Common Flaws in Certificate of Insurance
• Error: The “additional insured” status is missing.
• Solution: The certificate holder needs to be listed as the additional insured for your General Liability coverage. This can either go in the “Description of Operations” box, or in the “ADDL INSR” column next to General Liability.
Common Flaws in Certificate of Insurance
• Error: There is no worker’s compensation coverage on the certificate of insurance, and no worker’s comp exclusion form has been uploaded
• Solution: If your Certificate of Insurance does not include Worker’s Compensation and you are excluded from having Worker’s Comp, please fill out and upload a Worker’s Comp exclusion form (available on the Application tab). If not, please include a Certificate of Insurance that includes Worker’s Comp.
HVACR License Requirements
• Must be issued by the State of Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation
• Must say “State Board of HVACR Contractors”
• Must be current/not expired
• Must be Master or Master Restricted
W-9 Requirements
• Must include Name, Tax Classification and address
• Social Security number or Employer Identification number in Part 1 must be filled out
• Part 2 must be signed and dated
• The date next to the signature must be in 2016
Correcting Flaws
• Any flaw messages left by the rebate processors on a flawed application will be sent to the e-mail address listed in the primary contact. If you don’t see these messages in your inbox, please check your spam or junk folder.
• You can also go online to the application processing center to check on the status of your applications.

• There will be an open space for you to upload the correct documents

• Once you have corrected all the flaws on your application, please leave a note in the message area, this will expedite when an application processor looks at your application again
• Select “Send Us A Message”
• Enter a message stating your flaws have been corrected

Tips and Shortcuts - Documents
• Depending on your scanner’s capabilities, scan all your documents into one file, so you only need to do one upload. Don’t worry about completing all the open tasks, as long as all your documents have been uploaded.
