Constitution

1. Definitions

1.1 In these Rules, unless the context requires otherwise:

Business Day means a day on which trading banks are open for general banking business in Tasmania, excluding a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday;

ClubCircular means the Club’s monthly periodical titled ‘Hobart Walking Club Inc, and wherever Circular’;

Club means the reference toHobart Walking Club appearsInc;

Executive Committee means the Executive Committee of the Club;

Effective Date means the next day after the day in which the members of the Club passed the special resolution at the general meeting of the members of the Club held on 5 June 2015;Financial year means that period of 12 Months commencing on 1 July in any given year and concluding on 30 June of the following year;

General Meetingmeeting means the annual or any special general meeting of the Club;

Honorary Life Member means a person elected as an Honorary Life Member of the Club pursuant to Rule 3.4;

Member means a member of the Club;Monthmembers means both Voting and Non-Voting Members;

Model Rules means Associations Incorporation (Model Rules) Regulations 2007

month means a calendar month;

Non-Voting Member means a Membermember whose privileges of membership do not include the right to vote at a general meetingmeetings of the Club;

President means a voting memberVoting Member elected by the Members to perform the duties of the President of the Club and the chairmanChair of the Executive Committee and general meetings;

Rules mean this Constitution as altered or added to;

Secretary means a voting member Voting Member elected by the Members to the Executive Committee to perform the duties of the secretarySecretary of the Club;

Vice -President means a voting member Voting Member elected by the Members to the Executive Committee to perform the duties of the Vice -President of the Club and the Vice -President of the Executive Committee;

Voting Member means a Membermember whose privileges of membership include the right to vote at a general meetingmeetings of the Club; and

2. Preliminary

[1.2] Name

The name of the Association shall be the Hobart Walking Club Incorporated.Inc (in this Constitution referred to as the “Club”). This Constitution takes effect on the Effective Date.

[1.3] Objects and Purposes

(a) The basic objects of the Club are:

(i) to promote, encourage and organise walking and similar outdoor activities;

(ii) to promote interest in flora, fauna and natural scenery in Tasmania;

(iii) to provide training opportunities for members in navigation and bushcraft;

(iv) to provide a source of information on bushwalking to members; and

(v) to promote goodwill and social interaction amongst members.

2.1[1.1]

[1.2] (b) In addition to the basic objects of, the Club, the objectspurposes of the Club

shall be deemed to include:

(i) the purchase, taking on lease or in exchange, of any property that may be deemed necessary or convenient for any of the objects or purposes of the Club;

[(ii)] the buying, selling, and supplyingpurchase, sale or supply of, andor other dealing in goods of all kinds;

(ii)[(iii)] the construction, maintenance, and alteration of buildings or works necessary or convenient for any of the objects or purposes of the Club;

(iii)[(iv)] the accepting of any gift for any one or more of the objects or purposes of the Club;

(iv)[(v)] the taking of such steps from time to time as the Executive Committee or the Members in a general meeting may deem expedient for the purpose of procuring contributions to funds of the Club;

[(vi)] the printing and publishing of such newspapers, periodicals, leaflets, books or other documents as the Executive Committee or the Membersmembers in general meeting may think desirable for the promotion of the objects and purposes of the Club;

(v)[(vii)] the borrowing and raising of money in such manner and on such terms as the Executive Committee may think fit and as shall be approved or directed by resolution passed at a general meeting;

(vi)[(viii)] subject to the provisions of the Trustee Act 1898, the investment of any moneys of the Club not immediately required for any of its objects or purposes in such manner as the Executive Committee may from time to time determine;

[(ix)] the making of gifts, subscriptions or donations to any of the funds, authorities or institutions to which paragraph (a) of subsection (1) of section 7878A of the Income Tax and Social Services Contribution Assessment Act 1936-64 of the Commonwealth relates;

(vii)[(x)] the establishment and support, or aiding in the establishment and support, of associations, institutions, funds, trusts, schemes, and conveniences calculated to benefit servants or past servants of the Club and their dependants, and the granting of pensions, allowances, and other benefits to servants or past servants of the Club and their dependants, and the making of payments towards insurance in relation to any of these purposes;

(viii)[(xi)] the establishment and support, or aiding in the establishment or support, of any other association formed for any of the basic objects of the Club;

(ix)[(xii)] the purchase or acquisition and undertaking, of all or any part of the property, assets, liabilities and engagements of any association with which the Club may at any time become amalgamated in accordance with the provisions of the Associations Incorporation Act 1964 and the Constitution of the Club; and

[(xiii)] the doing of other such lawful things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the basic objects of the Club or any of the objects or purposes specified in the foregoing provisions of this sub-clause.rule.

2.3[1.3] Badge and Colours

The Club badge shall be the design of a signpost inset in a map of Tasmania. The colours shall be green and orange.

[1.4] Income and propertyProperty

The income and property of the Club shall be applied solely towards the promotion of the objects of the Club as set out in this Constitution.. The Club may not distribute any surplus, income or assets directly or indirectly to its Membersmembers. This rule shall not prevent the payment in good faith of the reimbursement of expenses

incurred by a member of the Club, or payment for any goods and services provided by the Membera member.

[1.5] Liability

[(a)] No Membermember of the Club is liable to contribute towards the payment of debts and liabilities of the Club or the costs, charges and expenses of winding up the Club.

[(b)] Members acknowledge and agree that in applying to become a member or renewing that membership of the Club that the nature of the activities carried out by the Club and by participating voluntarily, freely and at their own risk are such that it would be unreasonable for the Club or any of its Membersmembers acting on its behalf to be in any way responsible for any injury, or death to members or to damage to their property and members hereby, to the full extent permitted by law, waive all of their legal rights of action against and fully release the Club for loss, damage or injury or death or loss or damage to property howsoever arising out of or in relation to members participation in the activities conducted by the Club including without limitation, liability, for any negligent or tortuous Act or omission or breach of statutory duty on the part of the Club, its officer bearersExecutive Committee or agents.

2.4[1.6] Winding-Up

If upon the winding up or dissolution of the Club there remains after the satisfaction of all its debts and liabilities any property whatsoever the same shall only be paid to or distributed to such other association or associations, having objects and purposes similar to the objectsthose of the Club and whose constitution shall prohibitprohibits the distribution of the income and property among their Membersmembers.

3.[2.] Membership

3.1[2.1] General

[(a)] The Club members shall consist of : (i) Voting Members (, being Honorary Life Members and

membersMembers who have paid the current year’s subscription); and (ii) Non-Voting Members (including, being Prospective Members,

Honorary Associate Members and Associate Members)..

(b) Only Voting Members shall have the right to: [(i)] vote at general meetings; - (i)[(ii)] move motions; (ii)[(iii)] nominate and be nominated for any office in the Club;(iii)[(iv)] hold any office in the Club;(iv)[(v)] be a delegate of the Club; and [(vi)] serve on a Sub Committeesubcommittees.

3.2[2.2] Applications

[(a)] Every applicantApplicants for membership shall complete the application formare to comply with By-law 2 and pay the subscription prescribed by the Executive Committeein accordance with By-law 3.

[(b)] The Executive Committee shall determine whether an applicant for membership may become a Membermember. The Executive Committee are not required to give any reason for the rejection of any application to become a Membermember.

[(c)] If an application for membership is accepted, the Club must:[(i)] Givethe applicant shall be given written notice of the acceptance to the

applicant including details of the class of membership; and[(ii)] Enter the applicant’s name shall be entered in the Register of

Members.

[(d)] If an application to become a Membermember is rejected, the Club mustapplicant:[(i)] Giveshall be given written notice of the rejection to the applicant; and

[(ii)] Refundshall be refunded in full any fees paid by the applicant.

[(e)] The subscriptions payable for membership of the Club shall be determined by the Executive Committee from time to time, and shall be due and payable on 1 July in each year.[(i)] Any person whose subscription remains due and unpaid for more than

three months shall cease to be a Member of the Club.

3.3[2.3] Renewal

Members must renew their membership annually in with effect from 1 July each year by paying the annual subscription in accordance with By-law 3 and the procedures to do so determined by the Executive Committee.

3.4[2.4] Prospective Members

Prospective Members are those who have applied for membership of the Club in accordance with By-law 2, parts (a) and (b)(i), (ii) and (iii).

3.5 Associate Members

A person who is unable to participate fully in the activities of the Club may be an Associate Member. Each application shall be considered on its merits. To be considered for election as an Associate Member by the Executive Committee, the applicant shall give reasons for the limited participation and obtain nomination by a Voting Member of at least twelve months standing.

[(a)] A Voting Member who has given outstanding service to the Club, and who has been approved by the Executive Committee, may be elected an Honorary Life Member at an annual general meeting. .

[(b)] 3.5 On election to such membership, an Honorary Life Member is deemed financial each year and retains all the rights and obligations of a Voting Member.

3.7 Honorary Associate Member

[(a)] A person, not a member of the Club, who has rendered outstanding service to the community by promoting one or more of the objects of the Club and who is approved by the Executive Committee may be elected an Honorary Associate Member at an annual general meeting...

(a) On acceptance of such membership, an Honorary Associate Member is deemed financial each year.

Meetings3.6 Ceasing to be a Member

A Member ceases to be a Member if the Member's subscription remains due and unpaid for more than three months.

[3.] Proceedings of Members

3.8 Club Meetings

Club Meetings willshall be held with the purpose of providing a forum for members to discuss club activities, updating members on the business from the most recent Executive Committee Meetingmeetings and entertainment about activities related to the objects and purposes of the Club. Club Meetings shall be held monthly except in January.

[4.1] Annual General MeetingMeetings

[(a)] The Club must hold anAn Annual General Meeting (AGM)shall be held in October each year.

[(b)] The business of an AGM shall include the following:[(i)] The considerationreceipt of the annual financial report and the auditor’s

report for the Club;

[(ii)] The appointment of the auditor of the Club; and[(iii)] The election of the Executive Committee.; and(i) appointment of the auditor.

4.3 Special General MeetingMeetings

[(a)] Any 4 members of the Executive Committee or at least 10 voting members Voting Members may call for a special general meeting of Members at a

Special General Meeting. The time and place as the of such meeting shall be decided by the Executive Committee resolveprovided that it is no later than the next Club Meeting that can be called in accordance with Rule 4.4. Should the Secretary not call such a meeting, then those who called for the meeting may do so in accordance with Rule 4.4.

(b) In the event that a motion is raised at a Club Meeting, the Chairman Chair of the Meeting may determine that the matter be deferred to the next scheduled Club Meeting willwhich shall be a special general meeting. This will enable appropriate notice to be given to members and allow the motion to be discussed and voted on.Special General Meeting.

4.4 How to call meetings of Members

The Secretary must give not less than 14 days’10 days notice of a general meeting of Members.members. The monthly Circular shall be used by the Secretary to advise members of a general meeting. The notice in the Circular shall set out the place, date and, time of the meeting and state theand agenda of the meeting.

4.5 Chairing Meetingsmeetings

All meetings of the Club shall be chaired by the President, or, in the President’s absence, by a Vice -President, or in the event that the President and both Vice -Presidents are also absent, by any other voting member Voting Member chosen by the voting members Voting Members present and eligible to vote at that meeting.

4.6 Quorum at Meetings

No business shall be transacted at any general meeting unless a quorum of 30 Voting Members is present at the time when the meeting proceeds to business.

4.7 Voting

[(a)] Voting will be by a show of hands or onby a poll at a general meeting and every Voting Member present shall have one vote.

[(b)] Voting by proxy willis not be allowed at a general meeting.

[(c)] The resolution must beResolutions are passed by a majority of Voting Members unless otherwise specified in this Constitution. In the case of equality of votes on a resolution, the resolution will be lost.

4.[5.] Executive Committee

4.1[5.1] The business and affairs of the Club shall be controlled and managed by an Executive Committee.

4.2 The Executive Committee shall exercise all the powers and perform all the functions of the Club other than those powers and functions that are required by these rules to be exercised and performed by Voting Members of the Club at a general meeting.

4.3 The Executive Committee shall consist of a President, two Vice -Presidents, a Secretary and, an Assistant Secretary, a Treasurer, a Walks Secretary, a Ski &and Hut Secretary, a Membership Officer and three Committee Members.

[5.2] The Executive Committee shall be elected by voting members of the ClubVoting Members at the AGMAnnual General Meeting in accordance with Rule 6.

[5.3] TheOnly Voting Members may be nominated for election to the Executive Committee must be voting members.

4.4[5.4] The President shall not hold that office for more than 2 consecutive years.[5.5] Members All other members of the Executive Committee shall not hold the same office

for more than 4 consecutive years.

[5.6] The Public Officer, as required by the Associations Act 1964 (Tas) 1964 or any amendment to, or replacement of that Act, shall be the Secretary.

[6.] Power to appoint to Election of the Executive Committee

The Executive Committee may at any time appoint any Voting Member to the Executive Committee to fill a casual vacancy.

[7.] Conduct of Election of Executive Committee

[7.1] Nominations for all positions provided for in 7.1Sub-rule 5.3 shall be in the hands of the Secretary or lodged to the Club’s official postal address by 12 noon on the third day after Circular closing in September. Each nomination shall be signed by the nominator, seconder and nominee.

[7.2] If no written nominations are received for a position, a verbal nomination maynominations shall be accepted at the Annual General Meeting.

4.5[7.3] If the number of nominations is equal to the number of positions to be filled, the persons nominated shall be elected.

[7.4] If the number of nominations received is greater than the number of vacancies to be filled, a secret ballot shall be held. Scrutineers will be appointed by the Chairperson and the electionChair. Election will be by majority.

[8.] Functions of Vacancies on the Executive Committee

[8.1] The A position on the Executive Committee is to:

[(a)] control and manage the business and affairs of the Club;

without the Club permission of the other than those powers and functions that are required by these rules to be exercised and performed by members of the Club at a general meeting.

[(b)] All cheques, promissory notes, bank drafts, bills of exchange and other negotiable instruments, and all receipts for money paid to the Club, shall be drawn, accepted, endorsedcommittee; or otherwise executed as provided by Rule 25 of the Executive Committee determine.Model Rules

(a) The Executive Committee may at any time appoint any Voting Member to the Executive Committee to fill a casual vacancy or temporary absence.

5. Executive Committee Meetings

5.1 The Executive Committee shall meet at least 10 times each year, generally on a monthly basis, and at such other such times as they think fitnecessary.

[8.2] Voting atAt meetings of the Executive Committee meetings, a minimum number of 7 members shall constitute a quorum.

[8.3] Voting at any Executive Meeting shall be restricted to Executive Committee members present at the meeting. A proposed resolution of the Executive Committee shall only be adopted if a majority of those members voting on the resolution vote in its favour. In the case of equality of votes on a resolution, the resolution will beis lost.

[(c)] At a meeting of the Executive Committee, a minimum number of 7 members shall constitute a quorum.

[9.] Committees

[10.] Subcommittees

5.2 At its first meeting after each annual general meeting, the Executive Committee shall appoint conveners, officers and delegates required for the year. Each committee shouldsubcommittee shall include at least one person from the Executive Committee, other than the President or Secretary who shall be ex-officio on all Committeessubcommittees.

5.3[10.1] Subcommittees are to meet at their convener’s discretion.

5.4 The quorum at Committeesubcommittee meetings shall be equal to half the number appointed plus one.

6.[11.] Disciplinary Action

[11.1] The Executive Committee may, by agreement of at least two-thirds of the Executive Committee members present, expel from membership any member who the Committee considers to have acted contrary to the Constitution or in a serious breachinterests of the Club Guidelines.

[11.2] There shall be the right of appeal against a decision of the Executive Committee to expel a Membermember.

6.1[11.3] Any request for an appeal must be in writing to the Secretary within 14 days of notification of the decision.

[11.4] A Special General Meeting shall be called within 30 days of receipt of the written request.

[11.5] The Special General Meeting shall hear the Member’s appeal and may confirm, vary or reverse the decision of the Committee.

[11.6] The member concerned shall be suspended from Club activities until the appeal is heard.

6.2[11.7] The Secretary shall call a Special General Meeting in the manner prescribed in Rule 4.4 within 30 days of receipt of the request.

6.3 The Special General Meeting shall hear the member’s appeal and may confirm, vary or reverse the decision of the Executive Committee.

7. Minutes

The Secretary or Assistant Secretary mustshall keep minutes of the resolutions and proceedings of each general meeting and each meeting of the Executive Committee.

[12.] Finance and Audit

[12.1] Finance[12.2] The Executive Committee must ensure that adequate and correct accounts of the

financial transactionsyear of the Club are kept.shall commence 1 July each year.

[12.3] Club funds shall be kept in one or more accounts in the Club’s name in such financial institutions as may be determined by the Executive Committee.

7.1 The Treasurer shall keep true accounts of all receipts, payments, assets and desirable for the proper control, administration and managementliabilities of the Club’s operations, finances, affairs, interests, effects and property and the duties, obligations and responsibilitiesClub.

8. Audittime to time

8.1 At each Annual General Meeting a person, not being a member of the Executive Committee, shall be appointed as auditor until the next Annual General Meeting, and is eligible for re-appointment.

8.2 If an auditor is not appointed at an Annual General Meeting under Sub-rule 13.1 or if a casual vacancy occurs in the appointment of an auditor, the Executive Committee shall appoint a person as auditor.

8.3 The auditor may only be removed by resolution of a Special General Meeting.

8.4 The auditor, after auditing the financial affairs of the Club for the financial year, shall:

(a) certify as to the correctness of the accounts of the Club; and(b) provide a written report to the next Annual General Meeting.

9. By-laws

9.1 The Executive Committee may make, alter and rescind any By-laws that it considers necessary for the effective administration of the Club, provided that no by-law may be inconsistent with the Constitution. The Executive Committee is to notify the members of any such by-laws. Any changes must be advised to Members change to the By-laws by placing a notice in the next Circular following the amendment.published after the Executive Committee have made the change. Any change shall be effective 30 days after the notice is given unless, within 30 days of the notice being given, a member requests a Special General Meeting in accordance with Sub-rule 4.3 of the Constitution, to discuss the change.

9.2 If such a Special General Meeting is requested, the changes will not come into effect unless endorsed by Voting Members at the Special General Meeting.

10.[14.] Amendments to the Constitution

10.1[14.1] An alteration to this Constitution may be proposed by a motion at any general meeting.

[14.2] Notice of the motion shall be given, posted or otherwise distributed to members not less than fourteen10 days before the meeting, specifying that it is to be put forward as a special resolution.

10.2[14.3] The motion shall be specific and refer to the rule and sentences concerned. The rule is then to be quoted as it would appear if the motion is passed.

10.3 The motion or amendments shall be passed if not less than three-quarters of the Voting Members present at the meeting vote in favour of the motion.

By-laws 1. Postal Address

The Club’s postal address is as advised in the Circular.

2. Membership

[(a)] All members shall sign the Acknowledgement of Risk Waiver at the time of joining and membership renewal each year in accordance with ClauseSub-rule 2.45 (b) of the Constitution. This condition shall also apply to Honorary Life Members.

[(b)] To be considered for election as a Membermember by the Executive Committee, a person Prospective Member shall:

(i) Be at least 16 years of age;

[(ii)] Forward an "Application for Membership" form to the Club Treasurer and Club Membership Officer together with the due annual subscription as for a Voting Member. If application is made after the 31 December the subscription shall be reduced by an amount to be determined by the Executive Committee;

(ii)[(iii)] Pay a joining fee of $15.00 in addition to the appropriate subscription;

[(iv)] Complete a Club Essential Skills dayDay, Bylaw 11, and three qualifying trips within 12 months of applying for Prospective Membership. . Two of thesethe trips mustshall be a qualifying walkwalks advertised in the Circular and one could. One may be a hut working bee, a club organised track clearing weekend, a training weekend (e.g. at the Steppes), a bicycle trip of at least 35 km or a ski trip. The trips shall not include any trips marked as non-qualifying or undertaken as a visitor before becoming a Prospective Member;

[(v)] Complete the ‘Qualifying Walks Form and Application for Election as a Member’ form, obtain nomination by a financial Member of at least twelve months standing and forward the form to the Membership Officer;

[(vi)] . A Prospective Member may apply to the Executive Committee for exemption from the Essential Skills Day and/or the qualifying walks based on experience and qualifications; and

[(c)] Annual A person who is unable to participate fully in the activities of the Club may be an Associate Member. Each application shall be considered on its merits. To be considered for election as an Associate Member by the Executive Committee, the applicant shall give reasons for the limited participation and obtain nomination by a financial Member of at least twelve months standing.

[1.] Subscriptions

(a) The annual subscription shall be: (i) Individual $28.00

(ii) Family/Couple $51.00

(b) The monthly Circular shall be supplied electronically by email to all members free.

[(c)] Members may request a paper Circular to be sent by post for an extra charge to be determined by the Executive Committee, $17.

(c)[(d)] Members may request both an email Circular and a paper Circular.

[(e)] All Members will Each individual and family/couple, per By-law 3(a) shall receive aone copy of the Club’s publication, ‘The Tasmanian TrampTramp’, in the year in which the Tasmanian Trampit is published.

[(f)] The fee structure and rates for memberssame annual subscriptions shall also apply to Associate MembershipMembers.

[(g)] If a member'sthe annual subscription has not been paid by the fifth day of 5 September, the September Circular shall be the last Circular sent until the due subscription is received. If the member has not acted to renew the subscription by the thirtieth day of June following, membership shall terminate. Rights of members, as defined in Rule 3 of the Constitution, shall be retained by unfinancial members only until the fifth day of September.

(d)[(h)] If the annual subscription has not been paid by 30 September, the rights of members as defined in Sub-rule 3.1 are forfeited.

(e) If the annual subscription is paid by 30 June following, membership shall be reinstated.

(f) If the annual subscription has not been paid by 30 June following, membership shall terminate. The person may rejoin the Club as a Prospective Member.

3. Circular

A periodical entitled ‘Hobart Walking Club Inc Circular’ shall be published each month and shall be sent to those on the Club mailing list.

All publicity in which the name of the Club is mentioned shall be released only by the President or Secretary, except where the Club is engaged in search and rescue activities. In this case the Police Liaison Officer or the Convenor of the Search, Rescue and Training Subcommittee shall be empowered to make public statements on behalf of the Club and they shall inform, if possible, the President or Secretary beforehand of the statements to be made..

[(c)] The Walks Sub-committeeCycling Coordinator shall includebe the Walks CoordinatorsConvener of the Cycling Subcommittee.

[(d)] A Sub-committeeSubcommittee for a specific purpose may be set upappointed by the Executive Committee. Such a Sub-committeesubcommittee ceases with the achievement of the objective or the presentation of a final report.

[5.] Club Officers

Officers appointed annually by the Executive Committee, as required, shall be:

6. Membership List

[(a)] The details of each member's application shall be entered on a “‘Register of Members”.Members’. This shall be maintained by the Membership Officer as a confidential document, and may not be copied, sold, nor given to any person or organisation. It may be used as a reference for official information as required by Executive Committee.

[(b)] The Club shall have a Privacy Statement to describe how the Club collects information about its Membersmembers and those on its mailing list, how the Club uses personal information, whoto whom it is disclosed to, and how Membersmembers can access the information the Club collects.

(a)[(c)] For archival purposes, a copy of the Register of Members will be made at the end of each financial year.

7. Club Trips

[(a)] The Trip Co-ordinatorcoordinators shall have power to decide who may attend any trip.

[(b)] Any visitorVisitors may attend a Club triptrips if accompanied by a Membermember and if the Trip Co-ordinatorCoordinator is notified in advance and agrees.

[(c)] The Co-ordinator of a Club trip, with absolute discretion, may approve of a visitorVisitors under the age of sixteen years attending such a may attend Club triptrips if a Member on the tripaccompanied by a member who accepts

responsibility for the visitor and the Trip Coordinator is notified in advance and agrees.

[(d)] Any Membermember or visitor who wishes to leave the main party before the end of any trip must inform the Trip Co-ordinatorCoordinator personally before doing so.

[(e)] All persons in the party are involved in the management of the trip. All persons in the party must obey all reasonable requests of the Trip Co-ordinatorCoordinator.

[(f)] If at the time of closing of entry for a trip, or the appointed departure time, there are fewer than four walkers, the trip may proceed at the discretion of the trip co-ordinatorTrip Coordinator.

8.[7.] Essential Skills Day

The Essential Skills Day and other Training Trips shall include elementary instruction in bushcraft, map reading, use of a compass, first aid, survival and care of the bush environment.

9.[8.] Transport

[(a)] No person actingshall act on behalf of the Club, nor any of its Sub-committees, shall do anything concerning private transportation beyond acting as a bureau of information.

(a) The Club assumes no responsibility concerning such private transportation.[(b)] The Executive Committee may empower the Trip Co-ordinator tomay hire public

transport for Club trips and shall determine procedures for bookings and payment.

10.[9.] Hut Regulations

The Ski and Hut Sub-committeeSubcommittee shall be empowered to make regulations for the management of the Lake Dobson Memorial Hut. Such regulations shall not become effective until they have been approved by the Executive Committee and published in the Club Circular.

11.[10.] Club Property and Insurance

(a) The Treasurer shall keep an inventory of Club property.

(b) The Treasurer shall be responsible for arranging Club insurance cover, as nominated by the Executive Committee.

(c) All Members shall be responsible for replacing, or making good, Club property lost or damaged by them.

(a) Club trips shall have priority on Club walking equipment until two days before the trip.

(b) No charge shall be made for the use of Club equipment on Club Training Trips.

(c) Club walking equipment not required for training trips may be hired from the Equipment Custodian.

[(d)] If Club equipment on hire or on issue is not returned in good condition within three days from the end of a trip, a penalty willshall be incurred.

(d)[(e)] Hire rates and penalties shall be set by the Executive Committee.

13.[12.] Badges

Club badges shall be presented to Honorary Life Members.
