You must never lose courage. Divine Mother sent me to pilot you out of the clouds of your mind. Everybody’s difficulty is different, and he or she has to win that test of karma and Divine Mother.

Overcome all by constant inward calling on God and utmost devotion in words, thought, action, and obedience to Guru. God does not talk readily to the devotee, but a Guru does, and the easiest way out of all difficulties is to listen to him and obey him. Your troubles I do not mind. I will never give up my job about you. It is better to conquer evil and not go on living with it forever. Never for a moment identify yourself with momentary flas-hes of error. Have no fear, even when I am gone and no longer visible in your eyes. You will never be alone I may not scold you then, but I shall ever be with you, and through Divine Mother guard you from all harm, and will constantly whisper to you guidance through your loving self.

Translation

O Madhava! We should not slay the sons of Dhritarashtra, our own relatives, for how can we be happy by killing our own kinsmen?

Although these people through blindness and clouded greediness do not perceive the evil of destruction of their own race and the sin ac-cruing from eternity to their friends,

Still, O Janardana (Krishna), why should we, who clearly see the sin involved in destruction of the family, not think of turning away from such sin?

METAPHORICAL INTERPRETATION

Arjuna argues logically that he should not eli-minate negative forces—not out of compassion, but out of inner confusion, which leads him to grief and dejection. He believes that destroying the relatives will make it difficult to maintain the regular activities of life.

When a human being does not seek Self-reali-zation, his mind remains absorbed in the ani-mal qualities. We are all rational beings, but the power of our mind remains trapped in the spi-nal canal, making us nothing but rational ani-mals. In truth, however, we are the children of God; we have God-like purity and perfection; we require Self-realization. To acquire a spiri-tual education, people must practice extreme self-restraint; unfortunately, the minds of stu-dents always run back to matter and memory. In the night when they sit for study, they feel drowsy. To gain a higher education (Self-rea-lization), these students should fight against their extroverted tendencies and their sloth, withdrawing their minds from drowsiness. By doing so, they can become spiritually educated. The Latin word for education is educare, which means to seek the soul dwelling within—which is Self-realization.

Continued from the previous issue, Vol. 11, No. 1 (January-February 2016)

You Cannot Escape Your DestinyMy heart was quite heavy with fear. “Is it pos-sible for me to do it?” I thought and thought. Again he said, “Don’t feel that you are unfit. Think of the instructions of the Bhagavad Gita. Arjuna asked Krishna, ‘If anybody meditates deeply, what shall be his condition after death?’ Krishna replied that he would be born in a re-spectable, spiritual and divine family, where there is opportunity for soul culture. From that place his spiritual sheet would be revised and he would proceed on towards the divine goal. So you are born in a yogic, orthodox, brahmin family, where the main emphasis in life is spiri-tuality. You have the aggregate balance sheet of your prior birth which is brought forward here. That is why you come to me, and my aggre-

gated balance sheet also tallies with yours. It is a blessing in disguise on my part and on your part that we meet together and my desire will be fulfilled. Don’t tell anybody what I have pre-dicted for you, not even to anyone in your fam-ily. If you tell, you will get extreme hindrances. Just meditate and meditate and do your duty and surely you will realize what I predict. Try to find a good opportunity to come to Puri and join the ashram.”

I felt a numbness and could not judge. I was aware of my moderation, my balance of mind, my amity. I never quarreled with anybody. I had never even chastised anybody in my life, ex-cept my nephew once. But that was not a quar-rel. That was a sign of love. Because we lived together, he had great reverence for me, other-wise he would not have initiation from me after my Self-realization.

Shriyukteshwarji looked at my face. “What are you thinking?” I told him my thoughts. He loved me, came near, embraced me and said,

“Surely you have divine priority in you.” I met Shriyukteshwarji several times. Before his ma-hasamadhi he told me to go to Puri and join the ashram. I told him, “Surely I will go there when I will feel that my field is quite ready for renunciation. I think my field is almost ready to accept your proposal and blessings.”

Shri Shriyukteshwarji told me why Kriya Yoga was the best technique. He said that mind is the principal thing in every human body. From the mind people get so many thoughts, anxiet-ies, sorrows, emotions, passions, anger, greed, pride, delusion, crookedness, which are the main disturbances for God-realization. If you sow seeds without cultivating land, your effort will be useless. Similarly, if you try to chant mantras, say prayers and read spiritual books, if you don’t cultivate your body land, you can get spiritual madness only, not spiritual realization. A man walking from Puri to Haridwar on foot can reach his destination, but he may not reach it. On the road he may be killed, or he may die from an infectious disease.

You all know that Chai-tanya Mahaprabhu taught all to chant loud-ly the Hare Krishna mahamantra, but he himself sat in a cell in seclusion and did not talk with anybody. Ratna-kar (Valmiki Rishi) shouted “Rama-nama” for two or three days, but afterwards he sought Rama within himself, calmly without

any movement, and he got self-realization. He sat so calmly without any movement and he got Self-realization. He sat so calmly that white ants could not feel that he was a man and they built an anthill over his body. Tulsidas was also pasting chandan (sandalwood) and constantly remained engrossed in the thought of Rama. He was so absorbed with the thought of Rama that he was not aware of the presence of Rama and Lakshman in front of him. When he past-ed sandalwood paste on their foreheads, then Hanuman came and asked Tulsidas, “Have you seen that Rama and Lakshman came to you and smeared all the sandal paste on their fore-heads?” Tulsidas was not aware of it. He was so calmly absorbed with the thought of Rama that he had no worldly sense.

The authentic Kriya Yoga can grant calmness in a short time, if a devotee practices the technique rigidly, sincerely, and deeply with love. How

is this possible? Every human being has two-fold forces in

him. One is the biological force, and the other is the

philosophical (spiritu-al) force. Biological forces remain with-in the whole body below the eyebrow down to the toe. It comes from the twelve pairs of cra-nial nerves (two vagus nerves, sal-sai and gairus, and ten pairs of cranial nerves). That force pervades the whole

body. So peo-ple remain absorbed in the material

world and they cannot feel that Soul is the sole doer in every human being.

If you drink nectar in a vessel of poison, sure-ly you will get death. People are always cher-ishing the physiological and biological forces within them and, at the same time, are seeking God. That is why people cannot prepare their spiritual field and cannot get God-realization. With Kriya All Sorrows DisappearPeople have no control of their biological sys-tem. But people have control over their lungs and breath. If three or four persons hold the nose and mouth of a man, he will die within five minutes’ time. The Kriya Yoga technique is completely based on control of breath. A real-ized kriya yogi can tell a person how to inhale and control his lungs. Moreover, a kriya yogi can control his breath without holding his nose. Automatically, by that force, he can control his cells, muscles, tissues, diaphragm and atoms. Gradually, a kriya yogi gets extreme calmness. All his thoughts, anxieties, and sorrows dis-appear, and he forgets his physical sense and worldly sense. He can also get the breathless stage, which is the deathless stage. In this stage he will surely get divine touch sensation in different parts of the body. He will see illumi-nation all over the universe. That is savikalpa samadhi. Inhalations and exhalations continue, but the sadhaka does not feel whether the inha-lation has entered in or not. He only perceives three divine qualities. One is illumination all over the universe. Second is divine touch sen-sation in 108 parts of the body, even in the vacuum. Third, he constantly hears the ish-ta mantra (divine sound) in him. Through the super power the devotee will surely get divine love in the whole universe. He will feel that only God is abiding. Kriya Yoga is a combination of

Karma Yoga, Jñana Yoga, and Bhakti Yoga. By the help of Kriya Yoga one will feel the move-ment sensation of the soul in the 108 body parts. That is Kriya Yoga. He will see divine light inside the spine and also hear the divine sound. He will practically feel it. That is Jñana Yoga. Until and unless a man does kriya in the whole system, he cannot get divine perception, divine knowledge. And until and unless a man gets concrete remuneration in his work, he can-not work and he cannot get love for his work. The spine is the most important part of the hu-man body. The authentic Kri-ya Yoga t e c h -

open up the royal road of the spine through which the radiant life force travels. Anyone who practices this technique will then feel the simultaneous development of his body, mind, intellect, and soul, and his life will change to spiritual life.

Kriya Yoga is the applied part of Vedanta, Brah-ma Sutra, Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, Bible, Ko-ran, and Torah. Kriya Yoga is not Hatha Yoga or Raja Yoga. There are no austerities. It is the easiest, simplest, quickest and best technique for becoming God-realized. It is the highways of common religion. It withdraws all the mental waves of human beings and gives extreme calmness. That calmness is god-liness. Air is the vital thing of human life. If a man does not inhale air, he is a dead body. He has no passion, no anger. He cannot go to the church, temple or mosque. He can-not even pray loudly with others, as if God is deaf. Therefore, air is the vital force of every human be-ing. It converts the elec-tromagnetic force in ev-ery human life. In every inhalation the quality of air varies. We know the air can give us calmness. When w e sleep, we have a peculiar type of inhalation. We snore, but we do not hear the sound of our snoring. We get extreme calmness in our sleep. Kriya Yoga is based on that type of inhalation which will give extreme calmness, not sleepi-ness. One will perceive divineness and will feel nothing of the universe. The real Kriya Yoga guide can awaken the kundalini shakti (maya) in his disciples. Kun-

dalini is a marvelous shakti within man. This is the Lord’s own power of creation which is only awakened through meditation. Kundalini is one’s very life. Whoever you are, you can get the power through your guru. It is the duty of guru to awaken it. The awakened kundalini im-parts talent and success in practical life, success in the world, and gives capabilities in the field of intellectual pursuits.

If the kundalini power is awakened, poverty vanishes, ignorance disappears and love blossoms in the heart of a man and he becomes sublime. By the practice of Kriya Yoga a poor man becomes rich and becomes the ruler of the kingdom within him. Man is the prototype of

God’s thought. You are that im-mortal Soul. You are born for

Self-realization. You cannot die. If you practice Kriya Yoga in your every worldly thought and action, you will be hap-py to perceive the indwelling

Soul as the sole doer in you. Your visible body is your en-

emy. You invisible Soul is your sole doer. The more you practice kriya, the more you

feel that whatever you are doing is being done

by Him. This is your immortality and emancipation. Untie The Cords of Desire And SensationKri means you do your work as directed by your brain. A dead man cannot do anything. Ya means tat the soul is the sole doer in you. You cannot do anything until and unless the soul forces you to do it. Suppose a beautiful venom-ous snake is playing. You may like to catch it and take it to your room; but you do not catch

8

Page 9: Contents · 2016. 4. 27. · Kriya Yoga is the applied part of Vedanta, Brah-ma Sutra, Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, Bible, Ko-ran, and Torah. Kriya Yoga is not Hatha Yoga or Raja Yoga

the venomous snake and do not carry it with you. Similarly, many evil propensities remain within you. You should not jump over them. Remain in society. You must have civic sense or you are a nuisance. According to your prior-ity, God is functioning through you. You must also be careful about your food and drink, then you’ll never get heart trouble and you will live 100 years.

God made man in His own image and He breathed into their nostrils His own breath. He manifested Himself as human beings in the whole universe. It is our first duty to perceive God, conceive God, and realize God. There is an invisible counterpart for your every bodily part. That invisible part is real, and that is the soul. Without the invisible soul man cannot get delusion, illusion and error. That invisible man is a captive under the biological sensation. By the practice of Kriya Yoga you can untie the cords of desires and sensations which remain in the mind. By practice you can transfer the ma-terial consciousness into cosmic consciousness. Then, even through your delusion and through your family life, you can perceive how the in-visible power of God is constantly functioning within you. If you feel it, you will get divine joy, bliss and peace in your every day activity.

In Ashtanga Yoga there are eight stages to reach God perception. By only the first technique of Kriya Yoga, within eight minutes, you can com-plete yama, niyama, asana, pranayama and you can immediately attain pratyahara stage, where there is not sense of mind, thought and intellect, no sense of existence. You will only feel the triple divine sensations in you and will immediately get dhyana, the perception of

God in everything. Spontaneous God percep-tion is dharana. Just after this stage the sad-haka, with progressive practice, goes through savikalpa samadhi: 1. suvancha, 2. vicharani, 3. tanu-manasa, 4. asamsakti, 5. sattapatti, 6. padartha bhavaniya. Then comes the last stage, which is called nirvikalpa samadhi, or turi-ya. This is the breathless, pulseless, deathless stage. It is the highest achievement of the yogi. It is possible to quickly attain all the stages by the practice of Kriya Yoga. Kriya Yoga does not entertain any sectarian views. It only cultivates the mind and removes the jungle or weeds from the mind of the human being. Any person of any order, race or religion can receive it for his soul culture. If somebody chants mantras and worships and prays without transferring the mind into cosmic conscious-ness, it will take fifty-thousand births to get God-realization. It is so written in the Jñana Shankalini scripture. If a man practices Kriya Yoga rigidly, regularly, and sincerely, he can reach the divine goal within ten years’ time.

There is no consideration of age and sex to re-ceive Kriya Yoga. At any time, when one gets strong desire for God-realization and wants to practice regularly, he can get it. As a man can cross a long distance by an airplane within a short period, so Kriya Yoga can give super divine sensations within a short period, if the technique is practiced regularly and sincerely in the way taught by the guru.

I heard and learned all this from the great guru Jñanavatar Shri Shriyukteshwar Giri and be-came God-realized within a short period.

Never Give UpBy Tenzin Gyatso, XIV Dalai Lama

Never give up - no matter what is going on;

develop the heart.

Too much energy in your country is spent on developing the mind

instead of the heart.

Develop the heart.

Be compassionate not just to your friends,

but to everyone.

Be compassionate; work for peace

in your heart and in the world.

And I say again: never give up,

no matter what is happening, no matter what is going on around you.

Never give up.

Nabhi Kriya

The book INFINITE WITHIN FINITE is divided in three parts, each one from a different author.

The first part, which has the same title as the book, is a story by Rajarshi Ragha-bananda about his experience with the realized master Paramahansa Hariharananda and his experiencing samadhi. Rajarshi is the only one of Baba Hariharananda’s disciples who attained the most elevated samadhi state through the practice of Kriya Yoga, and his ex-perience is a unique reference to those that ca-rry out this practice.

The second part of the book is authored by Pa-ramahansa Hariharananda himself. It consists of instructions for samadhi, with an emphasis on a detailed explanation about Nabhi Kriya.

The third part of the book is a meticulous glos-sary prepared by Yogi Sarveshwarananda Giri, Hariharananda’s student. They are 27 pages of terms, translated and explained.

The book can be purchased at Libreria da Vila, Calle Fradique Countinho 915, Vila Madalena, Sao Paulo-SP. Telephone number (11) 3814 5811

IMPORTANT:If you read INFINITE WITHIN FINITE and you are interested in the study of Nabhi Kriya, you will find the location of the Vishnu Granthi:

Formed by the Anahata Chakra (heart center), twelve petal lotus, and the top half of the Mani-pura Chakra (or Nabhi Chakra, digestion center) totaling seventeen petals. The Vishnu Granthi begins at the center of the navel and continues on up to the region BELOW the pituitary. But it is written differently in another book, in page 110 of the Portuguese edition of the book Kriya Yoga, written by Paramahansa Hariharananda himself, from the Lotus do Saber Editorial. This is a translation error. In the English edition of the same book, original text from Baba himself, the information given in INFINITE WITHIN FINITE, is confirmed. Which, after all, was also written by Baba.

Shri Guru Paduka StotramVerse 1

Ananta samsāra samudra tāra naukāyitābhyām guru bhaktidābhyam, vairāgya sāmrājyada pūjanābhyām, namo namaḥ śrī guru pādukābhyām

Adi Shankaracharya’s Guru Paduka Stotram describes the blessings of having a guru. The Guru Gita (verse 17) aptly describes the guru as “dispeller of darkness” (from gu, “darkness” and ru, “that which dispels”).

“The blind cannot lead the blind; only a master, one who knows God, may rightly teach others about Him. To regain one’s divinity one must have such a master or guru. He who faithfully fo-llows a true guru becomes like him, for the guru helps to elevate the disciple to his own level of realization.”

My Soul!

God is one. Religions are many. Almost all religions are teaching that one can realize God through the five sense organs. However, wisdom and God-realization is not possible through the five sense organs.

God is all-pervading. He is in the whole world. Along with this, he is abiding in the head, in the fontanel, of every human being. There are fifty types of breath. Forty-nine types are for the material world and the extrovert. This is why human beings cannot get God-realization. Only one breath, the shortest breath, can give a human being calmness, which is godliness. God is hiding in the head of every human being and he is inhaling. He is inhaling the shortest breath. This is why you are alive. If you watch, in the fontanel, then surely you will feel pulsation in the fontanel.

Take four to five short breaths. Then you will hear a conch-blowing sound on the top of your head.

Take another four to five breaths, with the shortest breath, and watch. Keep 99% of your attention on the top of your head and search him in the fontanel. Keep 1% of your attention on the big photo on the wall in front of you. Only see the frame of the photo. Then you will see smoky white light, fog light around the frame. Gradually the light will become milk white light. If you constantly see this, constantly watch this, then the whole room and the entire world will be lighted. You will get samadhi. You will be liberated. It is a very simple technique. Practice it daily. Surely, you will be liberated within a short period.

Keep this in a frame and read it every day when you sit for meditation. Then you will get the deepest desire, which will give you liberation.

Thank you. I bow you all.

Humble,Hariharananda
