End of School Year: The end of school year is approaching very quickly. Instruction will happen all the way through the last day of school. It is of utmost importance that your child comes to school everyday prepared & in complete school uniform. We thank you for your continued support. Award Ceremonies: Parents, we will be having award ceremonies next week. Students must be in complete school uniform for the ceremonies taking place during school hours. SUMMER READING PROGRAM Parents, Please remember the IDEA Frontier Academy Summer Reading Program. We are asking the students to bring their library card to school along with the signed Pledge where parents have acknowledged the reading commitment of 6o minutes per day. When students show their library card and turn in their signed pledge they will receive a free children’s pass to the Gladys Porter Zoo. Padres, Por favor, recuerde el Programa de Lectura de Verano de IDEA Frontier Academy. Estamos pidiendo a los estudiantes que traigan su tarjeta de la biblioteca a la escuela junto con el Compromiso firmado donde los padres se comprometen a leer por 6o minutos por día. Cuando los estudiantes muestran su tarjeta de la biblioteca y su compromiso firmado van a recibir un pase gratuito al zoológico Gladys Porter.

Summer  Reading  books  are  being  sold  for  $5.00  per  book.  This  is  a  required  reading  assignment  and  for  your  convenience  the  book(s)  will  be  purchased  on  campus  with  Mrs.  Mendez.

Boys & Girls Club: We  regret  to  inform  you  that  we  have  come  to  the  end  of  our  5  year  grant  with  the  ACE  21st  Century  after  school  program.  The  Boys  &  Girls  Club  of  McAllen  -­‐  21st  Century  after  school  services  for  IDEA  Frontier  school  will  no  longer  be  provided  this  upcoming  school  year  (2014-­‐2015).    We  thank  you  for  your  continued  support  to  our  program  and  have  enjoyed  serving  your  children  for  the  past  5  years.

NURSE’S CORNER: Parent, We have now come to the end of the school year and for those of you parents that did provide medications for your child to have at the clinic, it is now time to pick up the medications. If medications are not picked up by the parent, we will dispose of all meds. Final day to pick up all medications is May 31, 2013. Thank you , for your cooperation in providing for your child to have medications at the clinic for whenever necessary. Padres, Hemos llegado al final del año escolar y para aquellos de ustedes, los padres que trajeron medicamentos para que su hijo/a tuviera en la clínica, ha llegado el momento de recoger los medicamentos. Si los medicamentos no son recogidos por los padres vamos a desechar los medicamentos. Ultimo día para recoger todos los medicamentos es el 31 de mayo de 2013. Gracias por su cooperación en la prestación de su hijo de tener medicamentos en la clínica siempre que fue necesario.

OPERATIONS CORNER: ATTENDANCE  GOAL  98.01% Cumulative  Attendance:  98.14%    ATTENDANCE  Parents,  we  appreciate  the  great  effort  being  made  thus  far  to  have  students  in  school  on  time.  Please  continue  supporting  us  as  we  encourage  students  to  be  on  time  to  school  everyday.  Student  Attendance  and  the  Monitoring  of  Student  Absenteeism:  Texas  State  law  states:  A  student,  who   fails   to  attend  classes   for  at   least   90%   of   the   days   the   class   is  offered,   cannot   receive   credit   for   the  class—even  if  the  absences  were  excused  by  the  school  district  for  medical  or  other  reasons.  (TEC  25.092)    It  is  mandatory  for  you  and  your  child  to  comply  with  the  Texas  State  law  requirement.    Students  not  complying  will  be  placed  on  an  excessive  absence  probationary  notice  for  the  2013-­‐14  school  year  and  will  be  at  risk  of  being  retained  for  excessive  absences.    META DE ASISTENCIA 97.5% Porcentaje de asistencia acumulativo: 98.14% ASISTENCIA Padres,  agradezemos  el  gran  esfuerzo  que  han  hecho  hasta  la  fecha  para  que  esten  los  estudiantes  a  tiempo  en  la  escuela.    Por  favor  continue  apoyandonos  mientras  nosotros  motivaremos  a  los  estudiantes  para  llegar  a  tiempo  todos  los  dias  a  la  escuela.    Asistencia  de  Estudiantes  y  Monitoreo  de  Faltas  de  Estudiantes  :  La Ley Estatal de Texas dice: Estudiantes que faltan a clase por lo menos 90% de los dias de clases, no recibiran credito por la clase—aun si las faltas fueron con escusas por el distrito por razones medicas u otras razones. 25.092) Es requerido que usted y su hijo/a cumplan con los requisitos de la Ley Estatal de Texas.      SUMMER  CAMP  PROGRAM  Parents we would like to make a correction on the summer camp registration form (Spanish version). It reads that a discount of $80 will be given when you sign up for 4 clinics. The correction is that the discount is $20. If you sign up for 4 clinics a receive a discounted rate of $80. We apologize for the confusion.    Padres nos gustaría hacer una corrección en el formulario de inscripción del campamento de verano (versión español). Dice que pueden obtener un descuento de $ 80 cuando se suscribe a cuatro clínicas. La corrección es que el descuento es de $ 20. Si usted se inscribe en cuatro clínicas, recibe un precio especial de $ 80 Gracias de antemano y disculpe por la confusión.
