Engineering with Information Technology gives career in Programming, Software project development, computer networks, information and network security, Management etc. The department has an intake of 60 students every year. Department is established in the year 2001 and have experienced and well qualified faculty base. IT Department has all 13 qualified faculty members out of which 1faculty member is holding Ph. D. and 4 faculty members are pursuing Ph. D.

B. V. M. Engineering College is well known since its inception in 1948 through the stalwarts of Mechanical Engineering Department like Prof. N. D. Bhatt, Dr. N. C. Pandya and Dr. C. S. Shah. Over the period of time, the department has produced eminent engineers, technocrats and educationalists like Dr A. M. Naik. The department has a current strength of 31 faculty members. The faculty members of the Department are highly qualified and dedicated with an average teaching experience of 20-22 years. Most of the faculty members are trained at various IIT's. We are committed to enrich the knowledge of our students and are fruitfully contributing through the knowledge gained over the years. We always look forward and are adaptable to changes for growth and betterment of our students. The Departmental activities are aimed at developing employable Mechanical Engineers with sound technical knowledge as well as commendable personal traits to cater the needs of various Engineering and Allied Industries.

The department has well equipped workshop and 11 ©state of art laboratories and will add five Labs with state of the art instruments in the field of Mechatronics, Flexible Manufacturing System, Machine Tool Design, Tool Engineering, and Solid Modelling & Rapid Prototyping Lab. A new curriculum under autonomy is focused to build ©strong fundamentals through core learning and is crafted for gaining considerable hands on experience with strong project work for the entire final year.A gamut of electives offered will prepare student for ©recent advance in the field.The Department along with Mechanical Engineering ©Department has recently added an extension building of Rs. 3.2 Crores for state of art laboratories & class rooms.

Faculties are involved in Research, Testing and Consultancy work ©in the area of Coordinate Metrology & Metal Joining.
