1 Conservatory of Music: Curriculum Maps Learning Outcomes Assessment Report, Spring 2014 Bachelor of Arts in Music I = Introduced R = Reinforced M = Mastered PLO1: Musicianship. The student will demonstrate fluent musicianship skills, including an understanding of music theory, proficiency with aural skills and sight reading, proficiency as a soloist on his or her main instrument, a demonstration of basic piano skills, and the ability to rehearse and perform collaboratively and contribute to an ensemble. PLO2: Music History. The student will define the eras of music history, and will identify and distinguish the musical styles and genres associated with each. PLO3: Research. Below are courses exclusive to a particular emphasis, so every student earning a BM takes the above courses, plus those relevant to his or her emphasis (for the BM in performance, the emphases are conducting, instrumental, or vocal).
