Conservation Land Management & Horticulture Introduction Program SPARK Ginninderry and the Canberra Institute of Technology proudly support training and employment initiatives for local people. SPARK in partnership with the Canberra Institute of Technology (RTO Code: 0101) are delivering an innovative training program focused on giving individuals accredited training within the Horticulture and Conservation Land Management sector. This program will introduce participants to career options and the range of associated vocational pathways. The information session will provide individuals with advice on eligibility criteria, program content and the commitment required to be selected as a participant on this program. Specifically targeting people 17 years of age and over, this program will provide participants with: · Seven accredited units of competency from the Conservation Land Management/Horticulture qualification; these include: 1. Operate specialised machinery and equipment (AHCMOM305) 2. Identify Plant Specimens (AHCPCM303) 3. Control Weeds (AHCPMG301) 4. Erect Timber Structures & Features (AHCLSC304) 5. Collect Native Seeds (AHCNAR305) 6. Co-ordinate work site activities (AHCWRK305) 7. Recognise Fauna (AHCFAU201) · General Construction Induction Card (White Card) · Asbestos Awareness Card Commencing 29 th July 2019, this 17 week program will run three days per week (Mon, Tues and Wed 28 hours per week) and be a combination of practical hands on learning, theory and potential industry work experience placements.
