Gender

• The most popular result for thisquestion was females. We expectedthis answer due to the genre we havechosen and the male singer we havechosen. This response is conclusivealthough there is still around 30% ofmales taking this questionnaire. As aresult, the video will have the targetaudience of females in mind andreflect a fantasy of younger femalesrather than males.

Age

• The most popular result for thisquestion was 16-24 year olds. This is aconclusive response and we’re happywith this result as that was our idealtarget audience. They’re a youngergroup of people who are more likelyto watch music videos than an olderaudience. Due to having a youngadult target audience, the narrative andall fine details will be made to intriguethem.

Ethnicity

• We had a conclusive response for

this question and expected this

response. Stereotypically, people of

a white ethnicity are more than

likely to listen to pop music than

other ethnicity.

Social Class

• The most popular response for this

question was, as expected,

students/unemployed/casual workers.

Due to the average age of people

answering this questionnaire being 16-

24, they are more likely to be watching

music videos rather than a higher

social class. It’s seen as more

‘common’ than ‘upper class’.

Overall Colour Scheme

• The most popular response for thisquestion was darker colours andblack and white. Due to the natureof the song and the lyrics, thisreflects the overall piece and suits itbetter with darker colours/ blackand white. This will be included inour music video. This is aconclusive response.

Camera Shots

• We had 3 popular responses. These

consisted of: close ups, longshots

and shots of the dancers. By using

these types of shots, we will be able

to approach the filming in an

artistic way complimenting both the

dancers and the potential of FX.

This is a conclusive response.

Costume

• There were 3 popular responses when

it came to the costumes of the dancers.

These were: casual clothing,

oppositional clothing and leotards.

Due to the first two being the most

popular responses, we will have a

production meeting with our dancers

and see what they feel most

comfortable with. This is a conclusive

response

Attraction

• The two most popular responses for

this question was: the music video

being unique and the concept of the

music video. We believe we have

created a unique concept and artistic

approach to this music video. A lot of

this will be presented with the

choreography the dancers perform.

This is a conclusive response.

Artists Being Listened To Today

• The most popular results were as

followed: Sia x5, Justin Bieber x3 and

Ed Sheeran x2. Looking at examples

of these three artists, they all have

creative and unique approaches to

music videos making them memorable.

We intend to do the same with ours in

hope it attracts our target audience.

This response is conclusive.

What Attracts You To A Music Video

This most popular response was just

the use of images when watching a

music video. Two people answered a

balance of text and image. This shows

our target audience are interested in

visuals rather than text and would

rather see the narrative shown

through actions rather than text. This

is a conclusive response.

Text On Screen

• In response to the two people who

answered text to the previous

question, they both agreed they’d

want to see a sans serif typography.

This response is conclusive but

won’t be acted upon as such due to

the lack of people wanting to see

text in our music video.

Page 13: Complete music video analysis

Narrative

• There were two most popular responses

these being: an abusive relationship and

falling in love with someone. The second

most popular results were: Looking someone

and suffering with and illness/burden. An

idea we will take forward is the ides of

‘extremes of love’ as these are relatable to

both answers/We are going to have a

production meeting decide which narrative

we are going to choose. The result is

inconclusive and needs further discussion.

Page 14: Complete music video analysis

Location

• The most popular response for this

question was a dance studio. This

result is conclusive and we are

going to be as creative as we can

with this location choice.

Possibilities include the use of:

smoke machines, different types of

lighting and different shots.

Page 15: Complete music video analysis

Special/Visual Effects

• The most popular response for this

question was no for special and visual

effects. I believe our target audience

want to see most of the work raw from

the dancers rather than technologies.

We may include some special effects

but will not be relying on them to

create the music video. This is a

conclusive response.

Page 16: Complete music video analysis

Lip Syncing

• The most popular result was a no

for lip syncing. A very conclusive

response which shows that our

target audience want to see our

narrative through the dancing

rather than them lip styncing.
