This winter will long be remembered for the record snowfall and the damage it caused. Gutters and plants received the worst of it from what I’ve seen in my yard and driving through the neighborhood. No doubt there were some sore backs as well. Those of us who commute to work, especially to downtown Baltimore, encountered some frustrating drives, and parents faced their own challenges with children out of school. Fortunately each passing day brings warmer weather a little closer and makes the snow piles a little smaller. The Orioles are in camp, so spring can’t be far behind (although I’ve been to open-ing day when it snowed). We can look forward to neighborhood events that come with warmer weather: the Easter Egg Hunt, the Run for Greenwood Park, the Triangle Party, and the opening of the pool. Each of these events adds to the quality of life in Wiltondale and makes this neighborhood special. The next meeting of the board of directors will be held Tuesday, March 9, at 7:30 p.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church. Fred Ross

Being snowed-in wasn’t entirely prob-lematic: it allowed us to get out and socialize with our neighbors; it pro-vided opportunity to build forts and tun-nels, sledding ramps and snow castles; and the road re-mained unplowed long enough for resi-dents to participate in cross-country ski-ing up and down Yarmouth Road.
