This booklet has been designed to provide information about the courses run by the Northern Adelaide State Secondary Schools Alliance
Community Learning Centre (NASSSA CLC).
COURSE INFORMATION BOOKLET
At the Community Learning Centre we focus on providing students aged 15+ with a realistic pathway to be inspired to connect with their education. We provide a range of individualised learning programs that support flexible approaches to curriculum delivery and guide students to complete their SACE and/or access pathways into work or further study.

CLC CONNECTWellbeing and Learning Dynamics
Any performing artist knows that a ‘Green Room’ is a place for them to prepare and relax before and after performing. The CLC CONNECT programs are our version of a ‘Green Room’ .... a place to prepare for each young person to guide them into the CLC ENGAGE & INSPIRE programs.
CLC Connect is the point of entry for all new NASSSA - Community Learning Centre students.
Students entering the CLC CONNECT Program will meet the wellbeing, learning dynamics & mentoring team who will work to:• Interview students to determine their SACE plan and desired outcomes for their time
in the CLC• Induct & orientate students so they are familiar with CLC Processes • Engage in a series of activities to determine learning style & needs, construct a plan
of action, and work with the “CONNECT Team” to skill themselves with thought dynamics and positive psychology to transition into a more tailored learning pathway
Once a learning pathway has been established and each young person has a timetable then the CONNECT Team can help & support. Each young person can opt to visit the CONNECT Team to get help with:
Subject Support - Teachers will be available to help tutor students through study and teach them learning strategies to support their individual learning styles.Pathway Planning – Career Coaches/Mentors will be available to help link SACE and other experiences to suitable action plans.Timetabling Issues - Staff will be available to assist and assess timetable changes as needed.Resume & Work Experience Support – The VET & Career Assistance Program (VCAP) team will be available to discuss all aspects of the world of work.Stage 1 Compulsory Subjects – Access to Essential Maths, Essential English & PLP with tutorial support
Enrolment in the CLC guarantees each young person the support and the connection they have been looking for in a learning community.
