Right To Play protects, educates, and empowers children through play. Founded in Toronto in 2000, Right To

Play operates in more than 20 countries – including more than 85 Indigenous communities in Canada –

reaching over one million children and youth through weekly play-based learning programs.

Right To Play is one of a kind. So is the way that we deliver programs. We use play in all of its forms to teach

formal subjects like math, English and science, as well as crucial life skills like confidence, critical thinking,

and conflict resolution.

We know that there is a lot of effort that goes into planning a fundraiser! Here are a few steps and helpful tips to get you started.

Step 1: Create a plan

• What type of event do you want to host?

• Where and when will it take place?

• How do you hope to raise money?

• How will you promote your event?

• Will you require any licenses (lottery, city permits, SOP)?

Step 2: Set a fundraising goal and create your budget

All events have some expenses. Use our budget tools to help

you reach your financial goals and stay on track.

TRAIN A TEACHER

A FULL YEAR OFPLAY FOR A CHILD

Many children face unimaginable

hardships and are rarely given the

opportunity to do what children do

best: play. You can bring hundreds

of children together for a

community-wide Play Day filled

with games, learning, and fun!

Right To Play trains local teachers

so they can bring play-based

learning into their classroom! You

can train a teacher to change the

lives of their students with the

power of play, helping

communities to learn, grow, and

succeed.

You can give children – including

girls – a safe space to meet, build

friendships, learn about their

rights, and become leaders in

their schools and communities.

Access to Right To Play activities

twice a week will help a child

learn important life skills, build

their confidence, and encourage

them to become a leader in their

school and community!

The funds you raise during your event or challenge will have a direct impact on the children and youth in Right To Play programs. Use these numbers to help set your fundraising goal and stay motivated!
