neighbours.

Changes to current hoarding around Regents Park estate

SCS has a bigger works area than CSJV. That means:

• we need to expand the size and number of worksites

• we will move and add some hoarding

HS2 has kept Hampstead Gardens and a path through to

Harrington Street open for as long as possible.

Unfortunately, once SCS works start, this area will be

closed to the public with no access.

The bus stops on Hampstead Road in this area will be

moved away from the works for safety.

Current Early Works hoarding is 2.4m high.

This will be increased to 3.6m for Main Works

We plan to keep the hoarding design the same along Park Village East.We are planting trees behind the hoarding so they will soon be seen above.

• Park Village East retaining wall is no longer being demolished for HS2

• We will strengthen the wall and undertake groundwater management before we start

tunnelling and excavating in this area

• This is to protect the wall during heavy construction and to ensure long term stability of the

wall

• Works

1. Ground anchors drilled into the wall from the track-side between Granby Terrace and

Parkway (de-stressed at end of all HS2 construction works and once the there is no

longer movement from the works)

2. Build a ‘berm’ made of earth and concrete at track-level to add support to the wall

3. Boreholes drilled in at street level to manage groundwater levels

• We have started monitoring the wall and will continue this until after the works are finished

• Ground anchors are drilled into

the wall about every metre

• Anchors are tensioned to keep the

wall stable during construction

• The anchors will stay in the

ground once construction is

finished but the tension will be

released in most cases (so they

can be cut or destroyed if needed)

• A berm will be added to the front

of the wall afterwards – an earth

and concrete structure to add

extra strength to the wall
