Daily monitoring
Hand washing
Gloving
Disinfect toys/environment
Properly dispose of waste
materials
Things to Remember!
All communicable diseases have different incubation
periods – meaning that they may not show
symptoms right away!
Different communicable diseases are contagious
that different times!
Child Care
Post any diseases on the door
If a child is sick…
Contact parents to pick up
Isolate the child
May not return until child is no longer contagious
Usually this means 24 hours after a fever breaks
Varies based on illness/disease
If medication is needed…
Must have written consent
Must only use as directed
Must record all dosages in the medical log
Your Turn!
Read through the information on your assigned topic. You will be teaching the class.
PART ONE - Choose one:
Create a poster with pictures and facts/information
Create a GooglePresentation with pictures and facts/information
Other way to explain the information?
PART TWO - Choose one:
Create and teach us a song that you could use to teach children this skill
Demonstrate your topic to our class
