The unit has been designed to run off a salinity concentration of3500PPM.

THe CHeMISTrY InVolVed:

The CPSC/CPA Series chlorine generator, by electrolysis, producessodium hypochlorite (NaOCI). In water, sodium hypochloritedissociatesintosodium(Na+)andhypochlorite(OCI-)ions.

It is the hypochlorite ions that form with the hydrogen (H+) ions (fromthewater)toformhypochlorousacid(HOCI),theactiveagentthatdestroysbacteriaandalgae, andoxidizesorganicmatter.

HELPFUL HINTS:

When the chlorine output is at 100% and the Cell is clean, then the chlorinator is producing chlorine. However, if thepoolremainscloudyorthechlorineresidualtestslow, thenthechlorinebeingproducedislostduetohighchlorinedemand.

Toreducethechlorinedemand,checkthepHreadingandcheckfor loworhighstabilizerreading. If testsshowcorrect,thenashocktreatmentisadvisedwithanoxidizieragent.

Generally, superchlorination is not necessary if the pool ismaintainedatcorrectlevels.
