PERFORM is a leading digital media company specialising in commercialising multimedia sports content across internet‐enabled digital platforms. PERFORM drives revenues through a mix of Content Distribution, Advertising & Sponsorship and developing Subscription Platforms.

When PERFORM wanted to fit out its flagship sales office with a screen network it turned to leading AV distributor Habitech Pro for the latest HDMI‐based high definition AV technology from WyreStorm.

Given the group’s activities it is not surprising that it has taken a leadingedge approach. PERFORM is a distributor of sports content via non‐traditional media ‐ primarily the internet ‐ whose content reaches over 100million sports fans across the globe. It delivered over 3billion video streams last year, covering 25,000 live events and servicing

independently branded channels such as Goal and Livesport (on YouTube) and Omnisport.

However, it’s more than just a producer and re‐broadcaster. It has a complex media sales operation designed, in its own words, to “commercialise multimedia sports content across internet‐enabled digital platforms, driving revenues through a mix of content distribution, advertising and sponsorship and developing subscription platforms.”

The Perform flagship sales office, in Goodge Street, London has been equipped with a 13‐screen network powered by a WyreStorm matrix switch and a WyreStorm Pro distribution network, which is used to show news, client content and its sports programming. Technical consultancy and installation was provided by AEOSAN, with back‐up by distributor Habitech.

A mix of 37”‐ 42” screens were deployed, supplemented by a 65” Sony in the boardroom and they are almost

all smart TVs so that they can also be used to view Internet streams. Four butted together screens are used in reception, and the sources being used are all high resolution, which include Sky TV boxes, PCs, streams sent over PERFORM’s own network, and Blu‐Ray content.

“Overall, it has been a really good experience and the reaction from both senior management and the sales force has been very good. The guys there can see live streaming and news of an event, they have been able to not just have it on screens round the office, but also choose what they have on screen. The WyreStorm system does everything we need it to do, it is easy to use and reliable - all important aspects in our business - and I think we got more direct input and support than we might have done with competitive products. All in all, we couldn’t be happier.”

The sources and screens are all managed using a WyreStorm Pro 16x16 full HD matrix switch linked to WyreStorm HDMI UTP receivers behind the screens, and the content has, cleverly, been managed by creating an iPad app which gives the reception staff ‐ in control because they know what’s going on in the offices ‐ real world names for the screens and available content streams.

The system has also been designed to cope with presentation needs in the offices’ boardroom and demo/conference room, with AEOSAN designing “in table‐top” laptop input systems using sender /receivers, WyreStorm switcher / scalers and Cat5e/6 cabling to the matrix which allow the screens to take either local inputs or screen material from the general network.

The local inputs (which can include content from VGA‐output laptops) don’t go via the main switcher in order to preserve confidentiality. PERFORM had a good idea of what it wanted in its sales office after Alan Greep and his colleagues had set up a now‐outdated SD screen system at the group head office in Feltham.

Alan Greep and the AEOSAN team pre‐planned screen siting and the provision of wiring and network access points so that they could be put in place while the new office space was being fitted out, making the final installation easier, and Alan Greep is full of praise for the system and its suppliers.
