BLOGGING & PHOTOSHOP

BLOGGINGI think that blogging is a useful way to post information/photos/videos/etc. on the internet to attract an audience. I have used a blogging website similar to Blogger called Tumblr which is a very popular social media platform for blogging.

DESIGN PROCESSBlogger is very helpful in the sense that customizing your blog is all set up for you. You can choose from a variety of templates and designs to make it your own.

MY BLOGI was able to upload a photo from Google images to use for my background. I tried to incorporate the colors of the text/titles to match the colors of the flowers in my background. I think the most

valuable blogging tool is the ability to completely customize it to your own liking.

PHOTOSHOPI had some experience with photoshop before entering this class so I was able to use my past knowledge and combine it with what we learned in class to edit my pictures to get them exactly how I wanted them.

FAVORITE TOOLSI liked playing around with exposure, contrast and saturation. iPhoto’s cropping tool is very useful because it has the grid to help align photos to go along with the rule of thirds.

FAVORITE PHOTOSThis was one of my favorite photos to take and edit. I loved the colors and different faces of the buildings. I took it in New York City which is my favorite place, and I was able to catch a moment where there weren’t any cars driving, getting in the way of my shot.

FAVORITE PHOTOThis was another favorite of mine because I love the fall and the foliage, and the colors turned out to be really bright and beautiful once I messed around with different settings in photoshop. My favorite kinds of photos to take are of scenery/nature so this fits perfectly.

USING PHOTOS IN MY BLOGI think that incorporating photos into my blog definitely added more character to it. I used a lot of photos of friends and family as well as scenery. I think it’s nice to see photos that I took and edited myself up online for others to see, especially when I’m proud of the photos. It also keeps the blog from being boring with JUST text posts. I think adding photos gives it more flavor and makes it more visually appealing.
