Course Description: Tri-C Western Campus is pleased to offer two co-ed basketball camps for ages 4 – 7 and 8 – 14. Campers will enjoy the ultimate basketball camp experience by developing skills in shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding and defense. Campers will not only learn what it takes to be successful on the basketball court, but off the court as well. Good sportsmanship and an appreciation for the game and how it is played will be encouraged. Campers will participate in drills and games throughout the week. Most of all, campers will have FUN!
Note: Craig Richardson is head JV boys basketball coach for Brooklyn High School. Richardson has
collegiate coaching experience, is a part-time physical education instructor at Tri-C Western Campus and
has experience in a K – 12 educational setting. Richardson also coaches youth travel basketball through
the Berea Recreation Center. He is a strong believer in empowering youth and helping them reach
their full potential.

Middle School Performing Arts Camp Students Entering Grades 5 – 9 in fall 2016Cost: Early registration is $245 by May 15, $295 after May 15
Course Description: The 20th Annual Tri-C Middle School Performing Arts Camp for acting, singing, dancing, playwriting, pantomime, directing and more is taught by theatre professionals. Included is a public performance on the last day of camp, Saturday, June 25 at 3 p.m.
Note: Campers may arrive as early as 7:30 a.m. and be picked up as late as 5:15 p.m. with
special arrangements. Campers should wear clothes and shoes they can move in and bring a packed
lunch or money to buy in the College cafeteria. Optional camp T-shirt may be purchased at the camp.

Tri-C JazzFest Summer Music Camp Ages 12 – 18 ............................. Cost: Registration is $250 by May 15, $300 after May 15.
Course Description: Work hard. Play hard. Spend two weeks at a jazz camp that culminates in a world-class jazz festival June 23-25. Get the benefit of working with Tri-C JazzFest artists AND the chance to perform at the festival. All camp participants receive a pass to 12 festival concerts at PlayhouseSquare.

Course Description: This camp provides students of violin, viola, cello and bass an opportunity to not only polish their instrumental skills but to create their own music as well. The camp combines string ensemble classes with a language arts class in which students learn journaling, storytelling and poetry. The students then select one of their poems or stories, from which a team of fellow students creates a performance with original words and original music. Students succeed in expressing themselves while at the same time perfecting their skills of music and language. There will be a final performance that is open to the public.

Dance Ensemble CampAges 5 – 17................................ Cost: Registration is $300 by May 15, $350 after May 15.
Course Description: Dance Ensemble students train in the fundamentals of ballet and explore creativity through modern dance. This class emphasizes contemporary techniques to develop coordination, musicality, strength, flexibility and alignment. Students learn basic ballet and modern dance techniques, floor work, center work and movement across the floor. Instruction in creative improvisation, performance development, choreography and composition skills will culminate in a final performance. Director and choreographer of the ensemble is renowned artist Terence Greene. His love for choreography and teaching young people is evident in the extensive list of schools, professionals and dance companies with which he has worked nationally and internationally. Course Description: Enjoy a different theme each day as we spend the week exploring space right here on Earth! Look at light as you have never seen it before; learn about the lives of astronauts and all about rockets. At the end of the week, design and build your own moon base! Course Description: Do you ever wonder why huge airplanes are able to travel so gracefully in the sky? Step into the shoes of the Wright Brothers and put your engineering skills to the test in NASA’s “Let It Glide” challenge! Learn all about different types of aircraft and investigate the forces that allow each of them to fly. Work as a team to build your very own glider out of a simple cardboard shoebox and carry out test flights. Speak directly with NASA subject matter experts to discuss your designs and hear about the exciting research being done with planes at NASA’s Glenn Research Center. Finally, your team will share its solutions to the challenge in a video that will be submitted to the NASA YouTube channel. Please bring a snack, lunch and bottled water.

Course Description: Join us for five days of magical summer fun! First, you’ll be sorted into your “House” by age. Each day you’ll traverse the Center’s campus and parklands as you learn the basics of chemistry in “Potions” class, practice the art of “Divination” in the planetarium, learn the ways of wildlife in the “Care of Magical Creatures” class and find your way through the forest in “Herbology.” Don’t miss the fun of summer science! Wildlife Rehabilitator Investigation CampGrades 6 – 9 ............................................................................................................... Cost: $250
Course Description: As a rehabilitator you need to be able to treat, feed and house over 100 species of different animals, all of which have different injuries and illnesses requiring special care. Wildlife patients are some of the most challenging because they cannot explain what is wrong and they do not know that we want to help. In this camp you will explore all aspects of wildlife rehabilitation including the animals’ natural history, dietary needs, common injuries and illnesses and creative ways to house and treat these animals as you prepare them for life back in the wild. Participants in this camp will have the opportunity to work on real case studies and discover what it takes to be a successful wildlife rehabilitator. Please bring a snack, lunch and bottled water.

I am entering into this legally binding agreement for good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which I hereby acknowledge. I am the parent or guardian of the child named above, and hereby request that my child be permitted to participate in Cuyahoga Community College District’s (the “College” or “College’s”) “Summer Camp Program.”All College actions, requirements, directions, and standards shall be deemed to have been intended for the benefit of my child. Although a minor, my child is aware of the risks involved with participating in Tri-C’s Summer camp Program. I assure the College that I have carefully counseled my child on the risk of participating. Further, I warrant and represent that no physical or other reason would restrict or preclude my child’s participation. I authorize the College and its trustees, officers, students, vendors, consultants, and employees (collectively, the “Affiliates”) to obtain such medical care, emergency or otherwise, that it or they may deem necessary for my child. Further, I warrant and represent that I have adequate health insurance or personal funds to provide payment for all costs of such medical care, which shall be my responsibility. I acknowledge and agree that the College may dismiss my child from [Tri-C’s Summer Camp Program], either temporarily or permanently, in the event of behavior that is disruptive, dangerous, uncooperative, or otherwise unacceptable in the sole judgment of the College; and in such event, the College will owe no refund or other compensation whatsoever. I grant irrevocable permission to the College and its Affiliates to use my child’s name, photograph, video, likeness, voice, statements, or biographical material (collectively, “Material”) associated with the Event(s) in any and all manner and media throughout the world, in perpetuity. I irrevocably assign all worldwide copyrights in the Material to the College. I waive any rights of inspection or approval. I agree that the Material may be edited, adapted, expanded, revised, or modified at the sole discretion of the College and its Affiliates. I consent to use of the Materials in connection with publicity, advertising, promotion, publication, and any other purposes. I understand that the College and its Affiliates may use the Materials in any media or format it chooses, whether or not for profit, including without limitation television, radio, print, promotional materials, and Internet. I agree that the College is not under any obligation to exercise any of the rights, licenses, and privileges herein granted.
