(WEEK 4) FOR STARTERS The Colorado Crush is amidst their first of three, two-game road trips on the season this week as they head to the Second City and take on the (2-1) Chicago Rush. Perhaps one of the more heated Central Division rivalries, the teams added an additional wrinkle to the storied 11-game series in the off-season. AFL record setting WR Damien Harrell was an original member of the Crush with the team’s inception in 2003 and holds all franchise single-game, season and career marks for scoring and receiving. The two-time AFL Offensive Player of the Year made the move to Chicago in the off-season via free agency and this will be the first time the two teams have met since the loss of Harrell. The Crush is coming off a 51-40 loss in the first leg of their road trip to the (3-0) Dallas Desperados on Monday night and will look regroup and close the series gap against the Rush. Chicago currently holds a 4-7 (3-6 regular season, 1-1 playoffs) series lead, including a three-game winning streak. The game will be picked up by Fox Sports Net Rocky Mountain on Saturday and will be the second of the Colo- rado’s first three games carried either on regional or national television. ROSTER MOVES

PAGE 2

Final Rosters for the 2008 season were set on Monday February, 25 ... The maximum a team can carry going into the season is 24 on the active roster ... In Training Camp, the Crush made one roster change by releasing (6-0, 200, LA-Monroe) rookie DB Chaz Williams ... Going into the final week of camp, the Crush carried 15 athletes making their debut as rookies in the AFL ... 18 players from last season return on the training camp roster as well, making for one of the more veteran groups in the AFL ... The off-season also saw the Crush add several free agents in (3’3, 191, St. Cloud St.) WR Ben Nelson from San Jose ... Nelson was the 2006 AFL Rookie of the Year at San Jose ... (6-3, 295, Pittsburg St) DL Aaron McConnell and (6-0, 195, Cincinnati) DB Zach Norton round out the trio of players with AFL experience ... The now defunct NFL-Europe will certainly add to the talent pool that the AFL will be able to pull players from and the Crush have one of the best receivers from that league in (6-5, 210, Minnesota) WR Aaron Hosack ... When the Crush announced thier final season roster they retained the rights to 21 athletes ... Coach Dailey was also able to retain the rights to DB Antonio Malone, who was signed to the practice roster moving the number of total available players to 22 going into the 2008 season ... The Crush have yet to make any roster changes since the start of the season.

AGAINST THE RUSH - SERIES HISTORY

DENVER, Colo. - The Colorado Crush dropped their third straight game falling to the Chicago Rush 57-66 on Monday night, June 18th, 2007. The loss extended the Crush’s losing streak and was the team’s worst since the 2005 season. The victory gave the Rush a season sweep of Colorado and kept them atop the Central Division. Former Chicago QB Matt D’Orazio, who was named Offensive Player of the Game, threw for five touchdowns on 23-of-32 passing for 242 yards on the night. Rush WR Bobby Sippio registered a game-high 114 receiving yards on 10 catches with three scores. For Colorado, QB John Dutton completed six touchdowns on 26-of-43 throws for 246 yards but recorded two interceptions. Crush WR Damian Harrell hauled in a game-high four touchdown passes on 10 receptions for 93 yards. Colorado took an early 10-7 after the first quarter of play as Crush FB Robert Thomas rushed in from one-yard out. The rushing score was Thomas’ eighth on the season moving him ahead of Willis Marshall to set a new team single-season rushing touch-down mark. Both teams traded scores throughout most of the second period, before the Chicago defense stepped up with two interceptions in the final two minutes of play. The Rush capitalized on Jeremy Unertl’s interception, when four plays later D’Orazio rushed in the endzone from 18 yards out to put Chicago up 35-24. Rush DB DeJuan Alfonzo hauled in the second interception as the second quarter ended to secure the 11-point Chicago lead at the break. Chicago would start the third quarter capping a 21 point run when Alfonzo made a 38-yard run to the endzone to push the Rush lead to 24-42. Colorado stopped the bleeding when Harrell caught his first of four second half touchdowns from 10-yards out. The Crush would cut the Chicago lead to one possession, 51-59, with 3:37 left in the game when Thomas added a second rushing touchdown, this time from four-yards. The Rush answered however in two plays with a 12-yard pass to Etu Molden, as Chicago held on for their second straight divisional win.

JUST LIKE KYLEWhile teammate OL Kyle Moore-Brown continues his AFL record for consecutive games played, QB John Dutton has strung together an impressive streak of his own. Since the 2004 season, Dutton along with San Jose QB Mark Grieb have started the most consecutive regular season games under center in the AFL.

Last season the Crush secondary made a huge impact in the team’s overall success. The Colorado defense set a new club single-season record for interceptions with 20, which ranked tied-fifth in the AFL in that category. DB Rashad Floyd hauled in nine picks, while DB Chris Angel had seven interceptions, which ranked tied third and tied-seventh in the AFL respectively (the team’s individual single-season record is 10- Floyd in 2006). Floyd hauled in his first of the season last week in Dallas off backup quarterback Chris Sanders.

Last season FB/LB Robert Thomas made a huge impact in the Crush’s ground attack. Against the Chicago Rush (6/18/07), Thomas set a new single-season rushing touchdown mark with nine on the season. Thomas also moved in front of John Dutton and Rich Young for sole possession of second all-time in Colorado career rushing scores. Last week he got his 10th from one-yard out in the first quarter and is on nine back of the all-time mark set by Willis Marshall in three seasons in Colorado.

TACKLE HAPPY

For the third time in the last four seasons, DB Rashad Floyd yet again broke his AFL single-season record for tackles in 2007. Floyd lead the AFL with 156.0 tackles last season (43.0 tackles ahead of the second place player Arizona’s Keyuo Craver) and was just shy of averaging 10 tackles per game.

* After being released by Orlando at the midway of the point of the season, Mason joined Grand Rapids for the team’s final nine games. Mason missed both teams’ bye week, therefore, he played in 17 games. Typically, regular season statistics are based on a 16-game season.
