The summer school is now in its 38th year. It provides a wonderful opportunity for musicians to play in a full symphony orchestra with added benefit of the support and tuition of highly accomplished, experienced professionals. The location of Coleg Harlech is exceptional. The small town of Harlech is situated within the Snowdonia National Park, providing beautiful mountain and coastal views. While it is possible to be involved in musical activities from morning to night, the programme also allows some flexibility so that there is time to explore the area or, weather permitting, relax on the adjoining sandy beach. Accommodation is mostly in Coleg Harlech property located in Harlech close to the tutorial rooms and theatre. Many members of the orchestra return year after year. The age range is wide as is the range of occupations represented. All that matters is that you enjoy music making of a high standard within a fun environment. We pride ourselves on the welcome we give to all newcomers and will do all we can to enable you to have a really rewarding week, both musically and socially.
