Professional TV print adverts include the logo of their channel for instance here, there is a channel 4 logo which is used in order for the audience to recognise.

One main image to capture the audience attention by making them focus on one thing instead of lots of images which could make it distracting. Usually a striking image that relates to the topic of the documentary or show.

Page 4: Codes and conventions of print adverts

Title clearly shown and is the biggest piece of text on the advert. Title and other text usually relates to the colour choice of the image.

Slogan that relates to the topic and image but doesn’t give too much of what the documentary is about. Usually contains a rhetorical question to gain audience attention and create enigma codes.

Page 6: Codes and conventions of print adverts

A date and time is shown on the advert to inform the audience of when and where the documentary will be aired. Again, this text relates to the colour scheme of the image.
