Why Lunch Bunch?

Hi members, old and new.

Many of you have heard that we have started a new activity, “Lunch Bunch”.

We are encouraging all members and guests, who are not participating in the

workshop that day, to join us after each general meeting for lunch. WHY YOU

ASK? I want us to become a community…. No, I want us to become a family of

individuals that not only share a hobby but also our concerns, and joys. You

may say that you already have a group of friends in the guild and that this is

just for the new members. Once again, NO. If you, our established members,

do not participate then you are missing out on the opportunity to make new

friends and the new members cannot meet you. Members join guilds because

they want a place to learn about quilting and to grow their quilting skills.

Members stay in guilds because they feel like they belong; that they have

friends to meet up with and that they will be included and welcomed.

Some families come about by marriage and birth, others by adoption. We will

build our family together through shared interest in quilting, genuine caring for

our fellow members, and the inclusion of guests and new members. So join us

after the meeting November 21st at the Orient Café in the Township Square

Center across from Old Hickory.

And Sew it Begins,

Debbie

If you are not participating in the workshop, join us after the meeting

November 21st at the Orient Café in the Township Square Center across

from Old Hickory. They have a lovely sit down restaurant and have an

extensive lunch menu under $10. See you there.

Members that are attending the reception will be asked to sign up in November so that we can get a target

Community Service by Sakeenah Mubashshir

Greeting Guild Members…

The key to success is hard work and determination.

The first Community Service Workday for the Guild Year on Saturday, October 5th was a grand success. We

were able to cut 4 bins of fabric into fat quarters, 10” squares, 5” squares and 2 ½” strips. The pre-cuts will

make it easier for designing new quilt top kits. That’s a project for another day! Other projects worked on that

day included making children aprons for the school, costumes for the Church, and pet beds. Sincere gratitude

to the following members who helped at the Workday:

Carol Kettlewell Auian L. Ward Angela Duffy Shelley Frank

Veronica Rutenberg Cathy Price Beth Duffy Nancie Roach

Debbie Garner Sandi Winston Grace Clark Suzanne Goubeaud

Helen Wilems Joan Bell Darleen Patin

FYI… I will not be able to attend the November 21, 2019 guild meeting. Therefore, Judy Wolter has agreed

to collect all items being returned that day.

Thanks to the following Guild Members who helped with Community Service by returning completed work and

taking work to complete:

Barbara Foote Grace Clarke Barbara Baxter Carol Ann Barley

Debbie Garner Darleen Patin Nancy Burkhart Carol Gerken

Helen Wilems Linda Towle Shelley Frank Donna Sonnier

REMINDER, we continue to collect Hobbs UPC Labels. The UPC label provides a discount to the Guild when

purchasing batting from the Manufacturer. If you are purchasing Hobbs Batting for your quilting, PLEASE

recycle the bags by turning them in to Community Service at the Guild Meetings.
