C/o The Union,

Dear Nevada County Tea Party,I would like to apologize for the email I sent to your organization on Saturday, June 27th. In a moment of vengeance and self-righteousness, due seeing others across our country standing up and speaking out against the ideology that supports flying the confederate flag and the supremacy of State law over our constitutionally created Federal Governnment, I sent that email to your organization. I also intentionally used the same rhetoric or language style, that I have personally experienced when I questioned members of your organization on your political perspectives/opinions and as well as members of your organization are allowed to do on the opinion pages of the Union.

But no matter, two wrongs do not make a right, and I should have not sent that email to full of vindictiveness and anger, and I sincerely apologize if the people who read it, felt emotionally distressed with my words. However, the fact of the matter is that though your organization and the Union perspectives/opinion is that what I sent is considered Hate Speech, unfortunately the legal definition and GVPD law enforcement ( as a courtesy, the officer who took your report, called me and informed me he explained that your members) that hate speech is legally defined as language that threatens... insults.. based on race, color, religion, national origIn sexual orientation or physical disability. There is nothing in the legal definition that that says attacking or challenging a political group on their political perspectives/opinions is legally considered hate speech. Yes strong harsh critical language, but according to the legal definition, not hate speech.

Still, using the axiom Just because you can doesnt mean you should, I again apologize for the harsh words I directed towards your your organization. To demonstrate my sincere desire to make amends, I would gladly volunteer my time to help teach classes on the Constitution in your new Liberty Center. I am a retired high school social studies teacher, but I still hold a valid California teaching credential. My favorite classes to teach were US History and Government. I am incredibly passionate not only about the Constitution itself ,but the history of the people and the time period in which it was created. I taught both subjects based on documented and well researched information or a professional, non-ideological approach. This is because it was congruent with the ideals our founding fathers strove to institute when they created our Constitution and the federal government from which it's based. So please contact me, using the email address I provided when I sent my original email. and I would gladly meet and discuss with you my offer. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely, Linda CampbellNevada City
