Objects of the Club To promote ownership and appreciation of American motor vehicles.

To promote and provide owners and admirers with car shows, car rally’s and social events.

Hi Members.

It is not the best time of year to be doing car things whether it is working on them or using them. Hopefully the heat will not last long and we will be able to enjoy plenty of activities coming up.

Our next big cruise will be the Power Memorial Poker Run which will again be on the tableland but this year our destination will be the Tolga Hotel which has great food and facilities. This event is open to all members of the public and other clubs so get the word out to your mates and invite them to attend. It will be on Sunday March 20th.

Coming up in June will be the Kurrimine Beach Hop which will be held on the weekend of the 4th and 5th. I expect some of our members will make Kurrimine an extra-long weekend stretching from Friday to Monday. The theme for the Saturday night fun and games will be “Circus”. Get in now and book your accommodation. The following weekend will be the Charters Towers Swap and Show.

It was a big turnout for Cars & Coffee on Feb 14th and I am sure all participants appreciated the move back to our old meeting spot. I noticed an improved level of service and did not hear of any complaints of any nature. It was good to see a lot of new young people join in with their Jap/import type cars. I hope they were made feel welcome. It was also great to see such a variety of vehicles there. Saw a novel way to beat the heat on the black Skyline, a functioning air scoop in the roof.

Do not forget any member can organise an event for all members to participate in, just let the events co-ordinators know what you are up to.

Safe cruising and see you all at the meeting on 28th Feb.

Bruce

Sitting at the bar

There I was sitting at the bar staring at my drink when a large,trouble-making biker

steps up next to me, grabs my drink and gulps it downin one swig.

"Well, whatcha' gonna do about it?" he says, menacingly, as tears welled inmy eyes.

"Come on, man," the biker says, "I didn't think you'd CRY. I can't stand tosee a man

tearing up."

"This is the worst day of my life," I say. "I'm a complete failure. I waslate to a meeting

and my boss fired me. When I went to the parking lot, Ifound my car had been stolen.

When I finally arrived home I found my wifewith another man. And then my dog bit

me."

So . . . I came to this bar to work up the courage to put an end to it all. I buy a drink, I

drop a capsule in and sit here watching the poisondissolve. Then you show up and

drink the whole thing!

But Hell,....... enough about me, how are you doing?
