Golf NSW Limited Brand Manual 2010
Last year was a very busy one for Golf NSW, as we commenced the implementation of the Golf NSW Strategic Plan 2014-2017.
I am pleased to report on the successful introduction of a number of key initiatives during 2014 which included:
• AClubSupportService,toassistclubswith their operations and course management.
• AninternalCommunicationsAudit,toimprove Golf NSW effectiveness to communicate with its members and key industry stakeholders.
• Promotionofthegamethrough“PlaygolfWeek”.
• TheintroductionofaVolunteerRecognition Program.
• AreviewandamendmentstotheGolfNSWConstitution.
Anumberofkeystrategicinitiativeswillbelaunched during 2015 which will include:
• ABuddyClubProgram.
• ASmallClubBenchmarkingTool.
• ThelaunchofanewGolfNSWwebsite.
• AState-wideGolfForumRoadShow.
• ASocialGolfingStrategy.

Oncelinked,itishopedtherewillbeamutualunderstandingbetweenBuddyClubstoworktogether and assist one another where ever possible.

OverthepastninemonthsAsquithandParkesGolfClubshavepilotedaBuddyClubprogramwithgreatsuccess,andbothClubsagreethatthe relationship has been very beneficial, and

TheweeklongtripsawthejuniorsheadtotheNorth Island of New Zealand where they played two provincial matches and then took part in a New Zealand Golf National event.
TheyplayedmatchesagainstNorthlandattheNorthern Wairoa golf course, which is situated 2.5hoursnorthofAuckland,andagainstNorthHarbour at the picturesque Gulf Harbour CountryClub.Unfortunatelythehostsweretoogood for our team using their home course advantages to take out both matches convincingly.
Duringthefirsttwodaysofthetriptheteamenjoyed a couple of group excursions to a cultural centre and a thermal resort. It was a lot of fun and the juniors were able to learn a great deal about New Zealand’s indigenous people, the Maori.
ThenextstoponthetripwasHamiltonandtheteamplayedintheNorthIslandUnder19Championships.Theboy’seventwasplayedattheHamiltonGolfClubwhilethegirlsplayedNgaruawahia golf course. JNJG had some
further strengthened a previous connection between the two clubs.
MatthewFurze,GeneralManagerofAsquithGolfClubsaid,“AsquithhashadforsometimearelationshipwithParkesGolfClub,whereby each club would host the other every two years for an interclub competition.”
“TheBuddyClubprogramhoweverhasbroadened this relationship, and we have been able to assist Parkes further by sharing knowledge and resources concerning club
outstanding results with Stefanie Hall finishing second overall and Pyper Hollis winning the overall nett for the tournament. June Song also performedwellfinishingrunnerupintheUnder13division.NathanBarbieriwastheonlyboywhomadethe36-holecut.
AkeyinitiativeoftheGolfNSWStrategicPlanfor2015,toaddressthestrategicissueof“EnhancingClubHealth”,willbethelaunchofa“BuddyClub”program.
LastmonthsawtheJNJGSchoolsTeammaketheirwayacrosstheditchtothelandofthelongwhitecloud.Itwasanythingbutcloudy!TheteamoftwelvewasselectedbecauseoftheirperformancesatthethreemajorStateSchoolsGolfChampionships;theCombinedHighSchoolsChampionship,theUnder15NewtonShieldandthePrimarySchoolSportAssociationChampionship.

Theschemeisdesignedtoprovidevenueswitha financial incentive to adopt and maintain safe, low-risk practices, with a renewed focus on the ResponsibleServiceofAlcohol,inreturnforalower annual licence fee.
Alicenseecanreduceorsurrenderextendedtrading hours if they would like to either minimise or avoid paying the trading hours loading which is incurred if the venue trades after midnight. AnysuchchangesneedtobeapprovedbyofficeofLiquorGamingandRacing(OLGR)by15 March, 2015.
Risk-based loadings will be calculated according to:
• authorisedtradinghours;• compliancehistory;• patroncapacity;and• venuelocation.
