In 1985, ENTRE-PRISES created the first climbing holds and revolutionized rock climbing. That same year the first climbing competition took place on the cliffs of Bardonecchia. Since then, the sport has continued to evolve, creating new practices and approaches, and for over 30 years, ENTRE-PRISES has been constantly innovating to offer the holds of tomorrow.

Today, route-setting has become a real work of art, intimately linked to the shapes of the holds. That is why all our shapers are world renowned, like Laurent Laporte, an international route-setter and a shaper for ENTRE-PRISES for more than 10 years. Whatever the inspiration, shaping a hold first requires imagining a move.

And you will be able to create new moves! Discover the joys of bouldering and climbing walls with our new Absolute and Essential ranges: these simple, sleek holds are easily adaptable to more precise and fun climbing. Outdoor climbers will not be disappointed: master the intricacies of granite with the Stone Pulse range, have fun climbing the tufas of Yangshuo, or the fine runlets from the rock of Ablon. We are proud to offer more than 1000 different holds in a wide range of styles and sizes.

We’re passionately committed to the aesthetics and diversity of our holds and we are proud to offer an exceptional range in terms of quality and safety. With a wide selection of PolyUrethane and PolyEster models, our products are resistant to the harsh use that route setters and climbers subject them to.

The majority of our holds are equipped with the EPS system, patented by ENTRE-PRISES, to avoid accidents and injuries caused by the potential breaking of a hold.

This year, we have learned that climbing will be an Olympic sport in Tokyo 2020. As partners of the IFSC (International Federation of Sport Climbing), we are proud and excited to support our sport in this new adventure. So now it’s over to you to create the climbing routes of tomorrow!

Learn more about the shape of the holds by watching the video

Laurent Laporte is a shaper for ENTRE-PRISES, but he is also a famous route-setter.

When creating new shapes, it is not merely the aesthetic that counts, but also thinking about the grip that creates the move.

With Eclipses, Laurent was inspired by nature and eclipses which are a peculiar as-tral phenomenon. He created a simple, sleek design, available in 3 sizes that subtlety changes the difficulty and type of grip.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

We use two materials for our climbing holds:• PolyUrethane: This material is both light and resistant to impact forces. We offer a large

choice of colours, including bright fluorescent ‘fluo’ ones.• PolyEster: This is the traditional resin used for climbing holds. The touch is dry and the holds

are resistant to abrasion.

The climbing holds must be cleaned regularly. Simply wash with warm water and a stiff brush. Do not use any solvent detergent that could weaken the hold. A damaged climbing hold cannot be repaired.

We offer a vast selection of colours, depending on the material:

OUR INSTALLATION RECOMMENDATIONS

To ensure user safety, the climbing holds require spe-cial attention during assem-bly.

• We recommend the use of a torque wrench set to a maxi-mum of 35 N·M.

• The surface must be flat, un-broken and clean.

• It is essential to use the holes provided for the anti-rotation screws.

Most of our holds are equip-ped with a dual fixing sys-tem that allows the use of different screws:

• CHC M10 screw * (50-100) mm (cylindrical-type screw)

• FHC M10 screw * (50-100) mm (countersink-type screw)

• Anti-rotation screw 5*50 mm (wooden screw)

EPS - Explosion Proof SystemThe EPS system is a patented technology developed by ENTRE-PRISES. If a bolt-on hold should develop a crack or break across the fixing hole, the hold will remain in place connected to-gether by the metal EPS component and the pieces will not fall. This system is implemented on all large volume holds.

TUV CertificationEN 12572-3: All ENTRE-PRISES holds comply with the European standard for climbing holds. ENTRE-PRISES is the first manufacturer to be certified by the German TUV inspection body. Our production centre is audited annually and rigorous tests are randomly carried out on the sets of holds.

Playground Certification NF EN 1176.1: ENTRE-PRISES offers a large range of holds that are certified to comply with the European standard for playgrounds. They can be used by children older than 2 years.

IMPROVING THE WALL WITH VOLUMESClimbing is becoming more fun and dynamic.

• Bouldering: volumes completely modify the profile of a wall, and offer new climbing possibilities. We would recommend using between 2 and 5 macros per boulder.

• For Lead Climbing: the volumes are a way to change the rhythm of a route by providing a point of rest, or a steeper line. 2-3 macros per route is a good starting point.

QUANTITY• For bouldering: use between 5 and 15 holds for a boulder 4.5 meters high.

• For climbing walls: use 3 to 4 holds per metre for a route, so a classic 12-metre high wall has 40 holds: 25 hand holds and 15 foot holds.

• In order not to saturate your wall, we recommend that you limit the num-ber of routes to 3 or 4 per climbing line.

BOULDERING OR LEAD CLIMBINGMost holds can be used for both disciplines. However, the pure shapes (Ab-solute, Essential, Drifters, Macros) are often preferred for bouldering as they focus on moves. The sculpted holds (Yangshuo, Ablon, Stone Pulse) offer a large selection of grips, an important criteria when considering the line of a route.

OUTDOOR OR INDOOR USE

For outdoor use, we recommend PolyEster holds if the surface is flat. If the surface is curved, PolyUrethane will be better, but we advise avoiding the «fluo» colours. The «Kids» range is ideal for playgrounds.

Absolute

Simplicity and purity of shapes

The “Absolute” holds have been specially designed for bouldering. This sleek range has been designed to focus on creating specific types of move: one hold, one grip. These holds are all made of PolyUrethane: this allows them to be light and shockproof, as well as increasing their lifes-pan. For more precision, most “Absolute” holds can be fixed with bolts or wooden screws. It is also possible to attach small holds to larger holds using wooden screws. The holds are classified by type of grip, then by size.

Drifter

When climbing rhymes with nature

Sander Culliton is an American shaper. He was inspired by driftwood slowly sculpted by the Pacific waters of California to create smooth and ergonomic grips. The resulting shapes were mostly pinches, but you can still find small edges. These holds are all made of PolyUrethane: this al-lows them to be lightweight and shockproof, as well as increasing their lifespan. Because of their shape, they can be used for both bouldering or climbing walls.

Ablon

Aravis limestone at your fingertips

Laurent Laporte, a long-standing shaper at ENTRE-PRISES, lives at the foot of Aravis and its famous Ablon cliff . This limestone rock offers technical climbing on small crimps. Across this range the subtleties of Ablon walls are revealed: technical grips for both hands and feet, which require high accuracy placement. All of the holds in this range are made of PolyEster: they are resistant to abrasion and can be used outdoors.

Kids

Climbing for kids

The ENTRE-PRISES “Kids” range of soft and ergonomic grips are adapted for the hands of children! These holds can be used to route-set paths on a climbing wall, or build many fun traverses. As they are certified for playgrounds, they guarantee safety for children. The PolyEster holds are resistant to abrasion, especially sneaker use, and can be used outdoors.

Volumes

3 dimensional climbing

ENTRE-PRISES offers you a complete range of volumes. They will allow you to create new moves and rethink the geometry of your walls in a simple and effective manner. The “Pharao” range is a set of plywood vo-lumes that come in different geometric shapes. They can be easily as-sembled together to create more complex shapes. The bold-on holds can be fixed on the surfaces of the volumes as there are numerous threaded inserts. In addition, the resin volumes offer organic shapes perfect for bouldering.
