Cleaver Brooks InterfaceThe Cleaver Brooks Interface (part numberCEPL130366) is a CIO Module equipped with softwarewhich allows communication between a Carrier Com-fort Network (CCN) and Cleaver Brooks boiler controlequipment. It allows you to map up to 500 points in theCleaver Brooks system to a table of user-defined CCNpoints which resides in the interface. These points canthen be accessed by BEST/BEST++ programs orCarrier’s Network Service Tool, Building Supervisor, orComfortWORKS software in the same manner as anyCCN controller. The interface provides for the followingfeatures.
• A database which allows for access to up to 500Cleaver Brooks points
• Both read and write operations (where permissible)• Support for ComfortWORKS graphics• Programmable CCN names for each point• Individual poll rates for each point• Viewing of both configuration and maintenance tables
for each point• Support for both discrete and analog points• Port communication supervision with alarm
In addition, the interface has tables which allow you toconfigure alarm settings and RS-485 communicationparameters.
The interface connects to a Cleaver Brooks GeneralPurpose Interface ControlBus™ Module (Model 833-2757), equipped with a QS7850 card. The ControlBusmodule provides the RS-485 port to which the interfaceis connected with a user-supplied cable. Once theinterface is connected to the ControlBus Module, youcan include in its database points from any CleaverBrooks control device which is accessible to theControlBus Module, including the CB-Hawk Systemand CB780/783/784 burner controls. The interface usesa subset of Honeywell's BDI protocol as implementedon the QS7850 card to communicate with the CleaverBrooks devices.
