September 13th, 2011 “Hey, it's the Birthday Boy It's my birthday today!! Today we saw the War

Memorial and National Gallery. My favourite thing would have to be the War Memorial because there was lots of interactive things to do and I learnt lots

about how so many Australian soldiers fought for us in so many wars and that made me feel a bit depressed because I saw two names I recognized -

my mum's maiden name 'Slatter' and the name 'Mason'. I'm not sure if they are related to me or not. We saw the tomb of the Unknown Soldier

which was dedicated to all the soldiers whose graves are unnamed. That made me feel very sad that their bodies were never found & buried and

that they only way they are recognized is in this tomb. Black Mt Tower was lots of fun. It was really high - 870 m above sea level. The lift made a few

people feel sick in their tummy. I could see almost all of Canberra from up there. What I mainly focused on was Parliament House. A big shout out

to Mum, Dad, Jorja & my new guinea pigs, Dale, Kymberly & Natasha. See you all.”

“We had loads of fun at snow day and we had a fairly big snow fight. The Mint was loads of fun and at Questacon we had a ball. I thought the snow would be soft and flaky but it was icy like ground-up ice. Mrs Hopper went down in the snow ball fight - she got covered in snow. Canberra is a great experience and lots of people should come because you get to learn about our capital and visit places that you can't see anywhere else.”

comments and seeing your photos on this site as well - it is a great service for

all of us back home…”

was happening. With the blog it felt that we

could be part of what they see. I have never been to Canberra and seeing the pictures of the

places they’ve visited made it sound familiar when they give you a feedback on their trip…”
