Schedule:
High school students have 7 classes a day 7:20am - 2:30pm
Credits:
- Students earn a ½ credit for each course every semester
2 semesters in the school year (Fall and Spring)
- 3.5 in the Fall + 3.5 in the Spring = 7 earned credits
- 26 earned credits = High School Diploma

What is an Endorsement?
Endorsements are broad career readiness focus areas that comprise hundreds of potential career pathways for students. Endorsements encourage students to concentrate on career options and think about their education as a pathway toward individual goals.
Students may complete more than one endorsement if desired, and they may change endorsements at any time prior to graduation.

Log into your Skyward account (student account)
Click on “Schedule”
Click on “Request Courses for 2020-2021”
Keep going…
1. Search for your course by entering the course # in the search box.
2. Click on the correct course to highlight it. Click “Add Course”
3. Continue the process until you have reached 7 CREDITS
Don’t forget your alternate courses

Enter 3-4 alternate courses using the search feature and “Add Course” button

Important Course Registration Reminders
Choose courses carefully. Schedule changes at the high school level are for data entry mistakes or course errors only.
Course Registration Verification Forms will be delivered to students in April. Changes to requests will be accepted until May 1, 2020.
Schedules will be created to match requests as much as possible.
Course selection cards are due back to your intermediate campus by February 21, 2020.
Additional Information to Consider
• You only register for ONE sport. You cannot register for a sport and a PE course.
• We strongly encourage freshmen to wait until sophomore year for AP World History.
• Take your PE, Fine Art, and/or World language early (9th
grade) so you have room for all the other classes available in grades 10-12
Benefits of Spanish for Spanish SpeakersAdvanced Academics (higher GPA scale)
Can earn 2.0 credits for one class
Spanish I is covered during 1st semester
Spanish II is covered during 2nd semester
Open to anyone who demonstrates proficiency at the Novice High Level on an AAPPL assessment (listening and speaking).

GPA and class rank
GPA (Grade Point Average) starts your 9th grade year.
Use page 50 in the EPG to further explain how your GPA is calculated.CCISD’s GPA scale is a weighted 5.0 scale with additional points for morerigorous classes.
GPA determines your class rank.GPA and Class Rank is calculated once a year at the end of the school year during 9th and 10th grade and each semester during 11th and 12th
grade.
Colleges consider your GPA and class rank for admission decisions along withother factors.
College Admissions
College admission requirements may be greater than Texas FHSP
graduation requirements and will vary from college to college.
Review college admission requirements early and often to ensure high
school coursework meets expected standard of a college/university.
College admission officers will review a student’s transcript for rigor
and course selection during all four years of high school.
GPA/Class Rank may be an admission criteria at a college/university.
Superintendent’s Scholars
Eligibility Requirements:
-Earn grade of at least 95 in Level 2 courses
-Earn grade of at least 85 in Level 1 courses
-No discipline record
-Earn certificate and award
-Can qualify all four years of high school
