Gifted Resource Teacher Comes in every Thursday for about 30

minutes 1st grade is when the students are identified

as gifted or not Usually does a read aloud and then an activity

to test their skills

Grade Level and Subjects I teach 1st grade In 1st grade , the subjects consist of

Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Math.

This year Social Studies and Science are not being graded

When I am there, I teach either Language Arts or Math.

Class Themes My cooperating teacher loves the

beach, therefore our class theme is the beach There is a big beach chair and umbrella by the

carpet The kids are broken up into little groups, with a

fish hanging over their group with their number There is a beach scene painted on the wall, as

well as dolphins on the carpet for each student Beach balls are also blown up and placed

around the room.

Daily Routine I arrive usually at 10:55, help Ms. Reinen with random

tasks till about 11:15 and then a lesson is taught either by Ms. Reinen or me. After the lesson, we go to recess.

Other activities are followed: Lunch: 10:41-11:11 daily P.E.: 12:50-1:35 daily Library: 10:15-10:30 on Mondays Art: 1:40-2:20 on Wednesdays Computer Lab: 9:40-10:20 on Thursdays Gifted Lesson: 11:45-12:10 on Thursdays Music: 9:45-10:25 on Fridays

Behavior/Discipline Plan My cooperating teacher is one who points out the

positive rather than drawing attention to the negative

To reward the students for good behavior she has many little incentives… class store, team points, and class gems. If ten team points are earned the students get to have

lunch with the teacher If the class earns enough gems they get to choose a

party to have on Friday However, if she talks to a student more than once

on the same day, they have to flip their card. There are different colors for each behavior
