My Stevens experience was about exploring

the different challenges engineers work to

solve and acquiring a diverse set of problem-

solving skills and the background knowledge

necessary to be able to tackle them. I am so

grateful for all the clubs and activities that

helped build my leadership skills, the

numerous opportunities to work on hands-on

engineering projects and present my work, the

ability to attend so many cultural events

through the Pinnacle Scholars Program, and

the amazing research experience I had

working on algae biofuels. All of this enabled

me to jump right into the upstream process

development labs at Merck - working on the

production bioreactor for a highly accelerated

COVID19 vaccine program. I needed to learn

and contribute very quickly and thanks to my

experiences at Stevens, I am able to do that!* Education, Energy, Healthcare, Real Estate and Transportation are less than 1% each and together total 3%.

L3Harris Technologies

My overall experience at Stevens led to my

current success and post-graduation

position at L3Harris. The core engineering

design spine classes introduced me to a lot

of the technical and logistical challenges

that I am now encountering in my career

and helped me prepare well for them.

Additionally, the Co-op Program enabled

me to identify a career path I enjoy, and

then tailor my education to pursue specific

classes that would add extra value in my

chosen role. There was also great

opportunity to expand my networking

capabilities through clubs and activities, and

mentoring roles within the Career Center. In

short, every aspect of my time at Stevens in

some way led to my current success and

has provided the foundation needed for

career success in the future.

Stevens provided me many

opportunities to grow both

academically and professionally,

equipping me with a wide range of

skills to excel in my career. The

school's proximity to New York City

meant I could work part-time at NBC in

Rockefeller Center while still attending

classes full-time. This allowed me to

graduate with a strong professional

network that gave me an edge over

graduates from other universities. I'm

grateful for the peers and professors I

have come to know at Stevens,

because without them, I wouldn't be

the person I am today.

Cloud Hardware Engineer

Microsoft

Beginning my career at Microsoft as a

hardware engineer would not have been

possible without the support of the

Stevens community and the highly skilled

faculty in the Electrical and Computer

Engineering Department. I was able to

pursue my interest in FPGA and digital

design through the variety of classes and

concentrations offered, and my professors

ensured that the coursework stayed up-to-

date with the latest technology in the industry.

The Career Center helped me prepare to talk

to employers and navigate the career fair as

early as my first semester. This gave me the

confidence and skills to be a

competitive candidate when looking for full-

time opportunities. I could not be more

grateful for the support and encouragement

from my family, coaches, professors, peers,

and the entire Stevens community.

Systems Engineer – Flight Controls

Collins Aerospace

My time at Stevens has been nothing short

of an amazing journey that provided me

with a strong foundation to support my

professional career and provided

tremendous personal growth.

Academically, my classes at Stevens

fostered “outside the box” thinking to

provide innovative solutions and a "big

picture" mentality which has been a great

benefit to me throughout my summer

internships and now in my role at Collins

Aerospace. Extracurricular activities and

Greek Life jump-started my development

as a confident leader. My overall Stevens

experience prepared me to land my dream

role within the Aerospace industry and has

equipped me with the skills and

confidence needed to succeed in anything

that I put my mind to.

Georgia Institute of Technology

Through my study of Physics, Stevens

connected me to an amazing group of

faculty, administrators, professionals,

peers and mentors, all of whom wanted

me to succeed on my journey. I travelled

internationally for a summer internship, led

2 years of independent research at the

School of Business, and explored my

passion for data science at two additional

internships right across the river in “the big

city”. Stevens fostered and encouraged

these experiences every step of the way,

positioning me to be accepted directly into

a PhD program following my

undergraduate studies.

Stevens helped me prepare for my career from

the first day I stepped foot on campus. At

Stevens, there is the rare aspiration to complete

multiple internships and secure full-time

employment before senior year begins. I cannot

credit the Career Center enough for its devotion

to help students, including perfecting our

resumes and preparing us for interviews.

Additionally, the Stevens curriculum provided me

with cutting-edge technical skills that empowered

my candidacy among a competitive applicant

pool. Ultimately, my experiences at Stevens

helped me secure my dream job at

JPMorganChase. It has been an honor to study

alongside such a hard-working, humble, and

intelligent group of peers and faculty members.

My experience at Stevens as a first-

generation student surpassed all my initial

expectations. The Co-op Program

provided valuable real-world experience

relative to my desired career which helped

me standout as a competitive candidate.

Co-op also introduced me to many fields

of engineering, which led me to pursue a

Master's degree in Engineering

Management. The passion and dedication

my professors have for engineering

supported my success and enjoyment in

what I do. The engineering foundations I

acquired at Stevens will remain with me

throughout my career and I am excited to

embark on what is just the beginning of

my future in engineering.

Stevens provided me with all the skills

and tools that I need to succeed in my

professional career. Professors and

advisors introduced me to the wide

variety of directions that my degree could

take me, and my peers challenged me to

do my best. My experience as President

of the student chapter of the American

Society of Civil Engineers developed my

leadership skills. The Career Center

prepared me to interview with employers

that led to multiple internships resulting in

my full-time position. As the first in my

family to graduate from college, I am so

grateful to Stevens to be starting my

career as an Assistant Project Manager

at Mace Group in London, England.

Kristen Tan ’20

Most of all, Stevens taught me

how to pick up things quickly and learn

as I go. From my first design class all

the way through my capstone Senior

Design Project, I had multiple

experiences working as part of a team

presented with an engineering problem

and having to figure out the best possible

solution. All this practice in problem

solving made me confident that once I

started my career, I would be ready to

contribute and adjust to my new

environment. Knowing how to learn is

just as important as the learning itself,

and my Stevens education was

indispensable in ensuring my success in

this regard.

Kaitlin Gili ’20

PhD Candidate in Physics

University of Oxford

Four years ago, I would have never thought

that my current career prospects would look

the way they do now. Four years ago, I would

have never thought that my professional

network would be this wide or that my

opportunities would be this plentiful. As a first-

generation student coming into Stevens, I

didn’t even know what opportunities or

possibilities could be available to me. Now, I

truly realize and appreciate the value of an

education, more specifically the value of a

Stevens education. Stevens provided me with

more than technical learning and research

opportunities. It provided me with a strong

network, a lively community, and a supportive

environment for personal growth. I am proud

to be a Stevens graduate, and even as I go

forth in my career - first as a PhD candidate at

the University of Oxford and then as a tech

entrepreneur - I will always thank Stevens for

setting me up for success.
