Today well discuss the proper way to scan and store photos in order to preserve them for future generaons. Well scan photos, catalog documents and begin creang online access to the materials. Friday, August 3rd 10:00 AM-1:00 PM As the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month of 2018 draws near, we will discuss how we can honor the brave men and women from Forest county that served in WW1. Well connue discovering stories and documenng them for a display at the Forest County Fair. Saturday, September 8th Time to be determined Lets show off our World War I History! Youth that parcipated in the Cizen Archivist—WWI Spin club are invited to enter their display in the Forest County Fair. If you like old photos, museums, and learning about history, then this is the Club for you! As a member of the Citizen Archivist—WW1Spin Club, you will work with a trained educator to learn the basics of archival work including the proper care and handling of photos, journals, yearbooks, diaries and family papers. Your work will lead to increased access to a collection of materials specific to Forest Countys war efforts during the Great War. Well research and scan WW1 era photos, research WW1 veterans and document the efforts of Forest Countys numerous chapters of the Red Cross, WHO: Forest County Youth entering 6th—12th grades WHEN: July 13th, July 20th and August 3rd WHERE: Crandon Public Library. (Please bring a healthy lunch and well take a short break at noon) COST: $5.00 per youth (payable at the 1st meeting) Space is limited and registration is required Register online beginning May 21st at www.forest.uwex.edu Register by phone by calling Michelle at 715-478-7797. MEETING DATES & TIMES 4-H SPIN Clubs are short-term clubs that meet to focus on a Special Interest or topic. They are a great way to learn about specific project areas and to get to know 4-H. What does Archivists do? Where do they work? We’ll start

by investigating Forest County’s WW1 history through the

during the Great War. We’ll research and scan WW1 era

photos, research WW1 veterans and document the efforts of
