... and hopefully soonin real life, on the
Children’s Rights Day, November 2016!
Page 7
I want to knowall about children’s
needs...
Page 8
... and to givechildren a voice
in decisionMaking!
Page 9
We startedthe Children’sInternationalPress Centre!
Page 10
Our local Child Press CentreOffice is located at the Witte
Olifant School... Right next-doorto the Offices of the Dutch EUPresidency, January-June 2016
Page 11
Children’s rightsand well-being
are very importantTo me!
Page 12
So I ask youThis question:
Page 13
What can MEPsdo to make adifference in
your life?
Page 14
We are pleased to hearthat you are open to
listening to us!
Page 15
We workedtogether
intensely!
Page 16
And we read differentreports and newspapers
and interviewed adultsaround us.
Page 17
We all agree thatno child should be left out
in society in any way!
Page 18
We dividedthe class intofive groups.
Page 19
Seven of us checked out
our neighbourhood
Page 20
Six of us looked
for local professionalcaregivers around us.
Page 21
Four of us interviewedour parents ;-)
Page 22
Six of us investigatednational politics
Page 23
And another six of us examined international
politicians.
Page 24
And another five of us examined international
politicians.
Page 25
The international groupattended the press release of a survey
of children’s health behaviorsupported by the WHO
Page 26
We worked around 5 themes which we
gave priority
Page 27
1. Maltreatment of childrenand the elderly
Page 28
2. RefugeesWe would like to meet
one refugee each
Page 29
3. Who thinks aboutthe soldiers...?
Page 31
4. Protect us from the guyon the scooter who tries
to sell us drugs
Page 32
5. Use the latest knowledgeabout learning to update
our education
Page 33
Again:We do not want to let any child around us
down
Page 34
So we each‘tried’ tocontact with one
adult for apersonal dialogue
Page 35
We will present these adultson the front page of a glossy
about them
Page 36
All those glossieswil be collected in aspecial catalogue
Page 37
We will now presentall our topics to you.
Page 38
You can click on everychild to see who he
or she found
Page 39
Our Mayor described his personal crusade against child
abuse in a video, so we asked for an appointment and we got one!
Page 40
He’s really great, does a lot and told us about the taskforce against
child abuse which extends to all 342 Dutch mayors
Page 41
We told him about our fantastic teacher who
builds trust in our class for every kid.
Page 42
We think this is super important so that children
under pressure will feel that they can trust her and
all of us in class
Page 43
The mayor invited us to presentour work to his colleagues from the taskforce. And our teacher
got a personal letter full of compliments!
Page 45
So our answer to your huge question is:
Page 46
Support and trust our hard working teachers like our
mayor tries to do!
Page 47
Teachers can help us to develop trust.
Trust each other and in the adults around us.
Page 49
The Mayor’s taskforce will highlightInternational Children’s Day
a week in advance (14-20 november)
Do join us!We hope to meet you then!
Page 50
We’d like to help promotethe Ward Report, because it will
support each of us in befriendingrefugee children
Page 51
We hope you have enough colleagues in
the European Parliament who support you enough!
Page 52
Let’s see what we can do together. We stand strong!
How can we support you? Maybe one day we’ll all meet you...
Page 53
Thanks for your inspiring question!
