AbOUT CINP

The International College of Neuropsychopharmacology (CINP) is a truly worldwide organisation established over 50 years ago in Zurich, Switzerland. Membership is on an individual basis and we offer members the opportunity to become part of this knowledgeable group of scientists who work at the international level.

Holding regular meetings in the form of Thematic meetings, Regional Meetings, Train-ing Programmes and the Biennial world congress, CINP reaches interested researchers all over the world. CINP is dedicated to promote research and education on a world-wide basis.

The Executive Committee and Councillors of CINP are nominated by the membership and serve a minimum of 4 years. These individuals cover a wide range of disciplines within the field from psychiatrists, psychopharmacologists, basic and clinical research-ers and clinical psychologists. CINP relies on its many subcommittees who undertake a variety of activities for the College.

Membership of the College is available to any individual to apply for. The membership application is reviewed by a dedicated committee on a regular basis.

The International Journal of Neuropsychopharmacology, IJNP, with a steadily increas-ing impact factor, has become a sought after publication. Articles are received and reviewed independently and are published after a rigorous review process.

For more information about the College please go to our interactive website at www.cinp.org.

STOCkHOlm

StockholmStockholm is situated on Sweden’s south-central east coast, where Lake Mälaren meets the Baltic Sea. The central parts of the city consist of fourteen islands that are part of Stockholm archipelago and cover an area of about 7084 square kilometres (2735 square miles). The geographical city centre is situated on the water, in the bay Riddar-fjärden. Over 30 per cent of the city area is made up of waterways. Around 40 per cent of the territory consists of parks or recreational areas and there are seven nature preserves within city limits which are all easily reachable by public transportation.

VisaThe entry formalities for Sweden vary according to the country of origin. All visitors entering Sweden must have a passport that is valid for at least three months beyond the length of stay. For citizens of the European Union Member Countries, a valid identity card is suffi-cient. Please adress inquiries about entry and vaccina-tion requirements to the Consulate General or consult the website of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Sweden.

StockholmsmässanThe Stockholmsmässan or Stockholm International Fairs & Congress Center was established in 1946 and is owned by the City of Stockholm and the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. It is situated in the southwest area of Stockholm.

Airport and Arrival InformationStockholm-Arlanda is Sweden’s largest airport and an important hub for both the Stockholm region and Scan-dinavia − primarily thanks to aviation, with 167 destina-tions around the world provided by over 80 airlines, but also due to its good ground transport services to and

from other parts of the Stockholm region. The fastest and easiest way to get to the city is by the Arlanda Ex-press, which takes 20 minutes or even less. Down to good road connections as for taxis and bus lines and thanks to long-distance trains and commuter trains, which go both ways from and to the airport, the city is accessible.

Public transportationWith it’s fourteen islands Stockholm is geographically unique. You can travel the whole county with Storstock-holms Lokaltrafik (SL), Stockholm Public Transport and Waxholmsbolaget, responsible for the whole archipela-go traffic incl. ships and ferries. The area also covers a distance of several kilometers outside the actual city centre. Whether by taxis, Metro, commuter trains, sub-urban railways, ships or hundreds of bus lines, you can get to know the city easily and gain impressions of one of the world’s most beautiful capitals.

CurrencyThe currency is the Swedish Krona.
