FRUIT OF THE WORD The seed is the word of God. The agricultural metaphors in all of to-day’s readings give rich-ness to the message that the word of God, cultivat-ed in our hearts, bears much fruit in our lives. Creation itself awaits the redemption of all, even as our bodies await the resur-rection. Just as we will rejoice in the fulfillment of God’s word, so will all of creation sing for joy in the Reign of God. The word of God is effective and holy; it brings about exactly what it says. It is not futile or empty, but rich in meaning for those who hear and are healed. Those who hear the word of God and keep it will, with all creation, bear much fruit and sing for joy.

Please pray for a new tenant for our Parish facility. Notification of Hospitalization Illness or Impending Surgery

Hospitals are required to observe confidentiality and pri-vacy laws and are no longer able to inform parishes of admis-sions of parishioners. It is now necessary for either the pa-tient, him/her self, or a family member to notify the parish of his/her hospitalization. Arrangements then can be made for the parish priest to visit the patient. Because of privacy laws we do not publish the names of the sick in our bulletin or announce them at Mass unless the patient or a family member gives us permission to do so. Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will be adminis-tered upon request prior to a scheduled hospital admission or before any elective surgery. Please call the rectory 973-694-5700. All calls are kept confidential.

Serving in Our Military With gratitude, we remember our veterans and we also pray for the safe return of our loved ones who now serve us faithfully both here and in foreign lands. As a visible reminder of their sacrifice and our love, we would like to begin publishing a prayer list of the men and women who are actively serving. This list will be published regularly in the bulletin. If you wish to include a family member who is actively serving in the military, please call the Parish Office at 973-694-5700 and provide us with the individuals name and rank. You may also email the information to [email protected]. Please keep in your prayers ~CPL Axsel Consten, Marine ~Chastity Consten, Air Force ~Staff Sgt.
