Similes are phrases that are used to compare.
Simile comes from the same root word as similar.
You discover similes by the use of the words “like” or “as”.
…as busy as a bee……as white as snow……as gentle as a lamb…
Great authors use similes to describe and
compare what they see to what others have seen. When you
write, try to use similes to
help your audience to see what you
see.
