Prior, he spent 11 years in Denver directing the gift planning program for National Jewish Hospital. As a volunteer leader of NCPG (now PPP), he served as president, chair of the 10th National Conference, was a member of the board for five years, served on the ethics committee and chaired the task force on gift valuation. He is a past president the national capital Gift Planning council and a founding board member for the colorado Planned Giving Roundtable. Comfort has served five years as co-chair for an annual CASE Planned Giving Conference and serves on the editorial advisory board of Planned Giving Today.

Roz’s mother’s siblings suggested putting Roz in an orphanage, but her mother decided against it. Roz graduated high school and attended Los Angeles City College, transferred to UCLA and earned a scholarship. She became a teacher and rose through the ranks at Los Angeles Unified School District, becoming principal of Berendo Middle School and turning it around into an incredible success. She later served as assistant superintendent in charge of secondary education. Later in life, Roz became a philanthropist and is involved with a number of charities, including UCLA, Pepperdine University and the Los Angeles Jewish Home.

This session reviews results from a national longitudinal study tracking charitable estate plans among older adults across many years. Additionally, this study tracks the post-mortem estate distributions for over 10,000 decedents whose lifetime planning was tracked across many years. Learn what was really important, and what wasn’t, in generating actual dollars transferred to charity, and how this information can improve your results in marketing to potential bequest donors.

Roz’s mother’s siblings suggested putting Roz in an orphanage, but her mother decided against it. Roz graduated high school and attended Los Angeles City College, transferred to UCLA and earned a scholarship. She became a teacher and rose through the ranks at Los Angeles Unified School District, becoming principal of Berendo Middle School and turning it around into an incredible success. She later served as assistant superintendent in charge of secondary education. Later in life, Roz became a philanthropist and is involved with a number of charities, including UCLA, Pepperdine University and the Los Angeles Jewish Home.

You will not want to miss the 2014 Western Regional Planned Giving Conference: Philanthropy in Changing Times.
