Web Site: http://teachers.olatheschools.com/~geppon April, 2012 The contents of this booklet are designed to enhance your experience. You are fortunate to have this opportunity to travel to St. Louis and Chicago, and to expand your musical, educational, and cultural horizons. Please remember that as you learn and have fun, you are a full-time representative (ambassador) of your family, the Olathe North Choral Department, Olathe North High School, the Olathe District Schools, the City of Olathe, and the State of Kansas. Please conduct yourself in such a way as to bring credit to those you represent. You are a member of the Olathe North Choral Department because of your talent, ability, and effort. You work hard on a daily basis, and this trip is an extension of your daily work. Let's make sure that all of our efforts are focused on improving the quality of our lives and the quality of life for those around us by sharing and experiencing new information. Countless hours of preparation have been invested in this trip by faculty, staff, administration, parents, and students. As a total group we have invested over $30,000. Treat every action as though it cost the total amount. Realize that foolish behavior reflects on the total group. Let’s make sure that our actions will insure that other students in Olathe may have this opportunity at a future time. This is a great experience for us to live and work together. Be patient, kind, and cooperative and let’s have a terrific trip! Read the enclosed material carefully. Hopefully, many of your questions will be answered and some potential frustrations will be eliminated. To avoid additional frustrations let's make every effort to put US before ME in our thought process. This type of thinking becomes even more necessary as we become tired. In this trip booklet you will find emergency phone numbers. Please use these ONLY for emergency purposes. Let's have a great trip! Sincerely, Garrett W. Epp Director of Choirs Lynda Kreienheder Choir Accompanist

We travel as a group and only as a group. If you are too sick to go with us, arrangements will be made

for you to go to a hospital AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE. If you have relatives or friends along the way, please do not ask to visit them. Our time is limited and

you have new roommates. There is NO REASON for you to have a MESS in your room. Please don’t impose your bad habits on fellow choir members. Respect their rights and they will respect yours.

Students, please show respect for the chaperones, faculty, administration, and fellow students. You must be in your own rooms by 11:30 p.m. and lights out by 12:00 midnight. Good sleep is essential
