The current property was constructed as a bespokefacility for the global corporate headquarters of the BOCGroup plc between 1984 and 1985. Following acompany takeover by Linde AG and the relocation ofstaff to Guildford and Munich, the campus was vacatedin November 2007.

Prior to the current buildings on site the property had asubstantial cluster of period convent buildings, havingbeen occupied by two religious orders of nuns and alsoas a girls boarding school. All that remains of theconvent is the former stable block and clock tower.
