1998 gallium, Ga gallium, Ga I 2200 03 - 027 Solubility of Aluminum in the Intermetallic Compound CoGa 3 . The influence of the decreasing d-electron concentration on the stability of the CoGa 3 structure (tetragonal, P4 2 /mnm) is studied by substitution of Al atoms for Ga. A lowering of the d-electron concentration by Al substitution is possible up to a mole fraction of X Al = 0.35. Occupation of Ga positions by Al in the CoGa 3 structure leads to a decrease of the unit cell volume with increasing Al content. The data of the CoAlxGa 3-x phase are compared with those of other Ga-containing representatives of the CoGax structure type. — (MEYER, H.; ELLNER, M.; J.
