Schedule and overview for the spring Trust activity: CO-OP CHARGEOur Goal:

Engage participating ND REC Benefit Trust cooperatives and their employees in a Trust-wide activity that gives back to communities and encourages a positive work environment.

Overview:

Our collective goal is to create a positive and motivated culture by encouraging each other and celebrating wins while reducing sedentary behavior. To do this, a steps challenge campaign has been developed by the ND REC Benefit Trust Cost Containment Committee. Beginning with a “pre-launch” communication plan the week of April 1st and registration the week of April 8th, this formal initiative will kick-o during the week of

April 15th and run through May 12th. The winners will be announced the week of May 13th.During this timeframe (April 1-May 13), you will be the on-site point of contact for your cooperative. You are the on-site administrator and referred to as the Ambassador. The cost containment committee is hosting weekly conference calls to answer any questions Ambassadors may have. Conference calls will be every Wednesday, at

9 a.m., April 3-May 15.

Ambassadors - Here’s how the Co-op Charge works.

Ambassadors are the on-site administrators of the Co-op Charge and will be asked to do the following:• Be your on-site activity promoter• Send emails• Hang posters• Sign-up teams• Track teams weekly steps• Report to Tavi your co-ops teams weekly steps (Monday noon)• Be point of contact for your cooperative employees and liaison to the Trust (Tavi)

Materials included: • Ambassador guide to walk you through each week• Link for Ambassador registration• Gameboard with all Trust co-op logos to print & show steps accomplished, collectively, by all teams• Scoreboard used to show which team has the highest average steps for the week• 7 weekly emails drafted for 2 weeks of pre-launch, 4 weeks of activity, and 1 final week• Excel spreadsheet for team sign-up (tab 1) and weekly tracking (tab 2) • Member guide for participants who sign up• T-shirts for participants (delivered around May 1st)

How winners are selected:

The winning team will be determined by their total average steps over the 4 week period.WEEKLY: Teammates steps are added together and that total is averaged over 7 days to determine the team’s average steps/per member for the week. The spreadsheet is formatted to do this when you put in team totals each week. This is how teams are placed on the scoreboard each week.

If at any time you have a question, please feel free to contact Tavi, 701-667-6423, [email protected].

The Bottom Line

Employees become healthier, happier and more engaged, while giving back to their charity of choice.
