professional is working toward the same objectives.

3. Define what is meant by self-esteem then list five of the concepts that affect your self-esteem?

concepts that affect your self-esteem:

3

Information. You must be skillful in acquiring, evaluating, organizing, maintaining,

interpreting, and communicating information. You must also use computers to process

information. All of these skills are a part of an office professional’s responsibilities.

Systems. You must understand how social, organizational, and technological systems work and

operate effectively within them by monitoring and correcting performance and often improving

and designing simple systems such as managing mail systems and setting up and managing

filing systems.

Technology. You must be able to work with a variety of technologies, which involves

Although management consultants recommend planning work and following the plan, planning

difficult to create in a dynamic environment, one in which the environment changes frequently;

plans tend to focus on what works today and not how to deal with the issues of tomorrow.

8. Explain the disadvantages and rewards related to the time management concept of working at

one task at a time.

Jumping from one task to another is confusing. It takes time to review work to figure out where

to begin and recall what has and has not been done, which results in wasted time and energy.

Additional errors may occur that lead to missed details and inaccurate reporting of

information.
