DESCRIPTION

The objective of the study is to know the difficulty faced and the solution which can be used during the marketing of IT enable product with special reference to Ascent ITes product. For finding the difficulties and their solution , I have done the exploratory research . I went to the different organization and tried to sell the the different IT products according to their requirement and noted down their needs , demands and the question asked by them. We tried out to find the solution of the problem if they have faced. We tried to recommend them the best solution which we can provide, and we note their reaction. From this type of case analysis I tried my best way to increase the business and profit of my organization. After gone through all the cases I came to the conclusion that every company wants economical product which suits to the company’s budget, full fills all the requirements and work above the expectations. Second thing is every company believes that investment should be less and output should be more.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The objective of the study is to know the difficulty faced and the solution which can be used

during the marketing of IT enable product with special reference to Ascent ITes product.

For finding the difficulties and their solution , I have done the exploratory research . I went

to the different organization and tried to sell the the different IT products according to their

Hosting is the process of uploading the WebPages on the web server.

TYPES OF WEBSITES

STATIC WEBSITE: - A static website is one that has web pages stored on the server in the

format that is sent to a client web browser. It is primarily coded in Hypertext Markup

Language (HTML).

Simple forms or marketing examples of websites, such as classic website, a five-page

website or a brochure website are often static websites, because they present pre-defined,

static information to the user. This may include information about a company and its products

and services through text, photos, animations, audio/video and interactive menus and

navigation.

This type of website usually displays the same information to all visitors. Similar to handing

out a printed brochure to customers or clients, a static website will generally provide

consistent, standard information for an extended period of time. Although the website owner

may make updates periodically, it is a manual process to edit the text, photos and other

content and may require basic website design skills and software.

DYNAMIC WEBSITE: - A dynamic website is one that changes or customizes itself

frequently and automatically, based on certain criteria.

Dynamic websites can have two types of dynamic activity: Code and Content. Dynamic code

is invisible or behind the scenes and dynamic content is visible or fully displayed.

Dynamic code

The first type is a web page with dynamic code. The code is constructed dynamically on the

fly using active programming language instead of plain, static HTML.

A website with dynamic code refers to its construction or how it is built, and more

specifically refers to the code used to create a single web page. A dynamic web page is

generated on the fly by piecing together certain blocks of code, procedures or routines. A

dynamically-generated web page would recall various bits of information from a database

and put them together in a pre-defined format to present the reader with a coherent page. It

interacts with users in a variety of ways including by reading cookies recognizing users'

previous history, session variables, server side variables etc., or by using direct interaction

(form elements, mouse over, etc.). A site can display the current state of a dialogue between

users, monitor a changing situation, or provide information in some way personalized to the

requirements of the individual user.

Dynamic content

The second type is a website with dynamic content displayed in plain view. Variable content

is displayed dynamically on the fly based on certain criteria, usually by retrieving content

stored in a database.

A website with dynamic content refers to how its messages, text, images and other

information are displayed on the web page and more specifically how its content changes at

any given moment. The web page content varies based on certain criteria, either pre-defined

rules or variable user input. For example, a website with a database of news articles can use a

pre-defined rule which tells it to display all news articles for today's date. This type of

dynamic website will automatically show the most current news articles on any given date.

Another example of dynamic content is when a retail website with a database of media

products allows a user to input a search request for the keyword Beatles. In response, the

content of the web page will spontaneously change the way it looked before, and will then

display a list of Beatles products like CDs, DVDs and books.

Cost:-

Static pages are charged @ Rs. 700 per pages.

Dynamic pages are charged @ Rs 1500 per pages

excluding service tax.

CUSTOMIZED SOFTWARE

Custom software is software that is specially developed for some specific organization or

other user.

Custom software can be developed by an in-house software development group, or be

commissioned from a software developer.

Since custom software is developed for a single customer it can accommodate that customer's

particular preferences and expectations. Custom software may be designed in stage by stage

processes, allowing all nuances and possible hidden dangers to be taken into account,

including issues which were not mentioned in the specifications. Especially the first phase in

the software development process may involve many departments,

including marketing, engineering, research and development and general management.

Large companies commonly use custom software for critical functions, including content

management, inventory management, customer management, human resource management,

or otherwise to fill needs that existing software packages cannot. Often such software

is legacy software, developed before COTS software packages offering the required

functionality became available.

After the economic reforms of 1991-92, liberalization of external trade, elimination of duties

on imports of information technology products, relaxation of controls on both inward and

outward investments and foreign exchange and the fiscal measures taken by the Government

of India and the individual State Governments specifically for IT and ITES have been major

contributory factors for the sector to flourish in India and for the country to be able to acquire

Information Technology Software service has been subjected to service tax with effect from

16th

May 2008 with the Government notifying the date of amendments by the Finance Act

2008 in the Finance Act 1994 which is statutory provision for levy of Service Tax. The date

of 16th

May 2008 has been notified vide Notification No. 18/2008 – Service Tax as the date

on which the provisions of the Finance Act 2008 related to service tax come into force.

As defined by the Finance Act 2008, ―information technology software‖ means any

representation of instructions, data, sound or image, including source code and object code,

recorded in a machine readable form, and capable of being manipulated or providing

interactivity to a user, by means of a computer or an automatic data processing machine or

any other device or equipment.

Further, services provided by a consulting engineer in relation to advice, consultancy or

technical assistance in the disciplines of both computer hardware engineering and computer

software engineering shall also be subject to service tax.

Taxable Service is service provided or to be provided to any person, by any other person in

relation to information technology software for use in the course, or furtherance, of business

or commerce, including,—

(i) Development of information technology software.

(ii) Study, analysis, design and programming of information technology software.

(iii) Adaptation, up gradation, enhancement, implementation and other similar services

related to information technology software.

(iv)Providing advice, consultancy and assistance on matters related to information technology

software, including conducting feasibility studies on implementation of a system,

specifications for a database design, guidance and assistance during the startup phase of a

new system, specifications to secure a database, advice on proprietary information

technology software.

(v) Acquiring the right to use information technology software for commercial exploitation

including right to reproduce, distribute and sell information technology software and right to

in relation to advice, consultancy or technical assistance in the disciplines of both computer

hardware engineering and computer software engineering shall also be classifiable under this

service;

(iii) Technical testing and analysis service [section 65(106)] so as to specifically include

testing or analysis of information technology software;

(iv)Technical inspection and certification service [section 65(108)] so as to specifically

include inspection, examination and certification of information technology software;

following the Services Charge at 12.36% and properly filing to the Government of India.

the quoted price little bit but not much. So we again tried to convenience him with new

quoted price. But he was not ready for that price also. So we again talked with our senior and

now he was ready according to his wish but he kept the condition that if he will book the deal

and also pay half of the dealing amount. He was ready for that and he paid half of the price.

charging high price, he also challenge us that he will provide us same service for 2 paisa per

sms if we want. The conversation again started from our side by telling about the special

features of our service and quality which we are going to provide him. But he was not ready

by saying that all company provide same service.

Recommendation

We fixed the other meeting with him and our senior, so that solution can be found. The

meeting was fixed for another week. Me and my one of the senior went to the office and we

started our conversation again and the conversation took the same step and the problem was

him to take the service from other company which can provide him such fewer prices.

Result

Unfortunately we were not able to crack the deal and we also lose the deal of website

design because of the bulk messaging price which we have quoted.

We explained her that it is not like that it will take exactly 90 days it may be done

before. We also explained her that if her website will be on first page of the Google then she

can also earn good money through advertising on her website , which is done by the Google

company , and more the person visit the site more the profit she will get . But she was never

ready for that thing; she told that she won’t pay for starting three months as she was not

getting any business through this month. After that we proposed the other deal that if she will

pay the six months amount in advance she will be getting discount of rs. 6000 but she took

the same point again and again that she don’t want to pay for first 3 months, and we were not

ready for that.

Result

The deal was not able to finalise as we were not ready to provide the free service for 3

months and she was not ready to pay for three months.

We have provided the discount, but he was not ready as he was saying different

company was providing the same software with much less price. We also provided the

solution that we provide the training to him and his staff so that they can use the software

very easily, and we also provide free service for 1 year if any problem occurs but he was not

ready for that price.

other services. We went in the office and meet Risabh Jain who deals with the planning and

marketing department of the company. We explain him about the company and all the

explained him about the services which we provide. He want bulk messaging service in

which he also want to send the message to DND (do not disturb) Customer.

Problem statement

He was ready for the price which we quoted, but he wanted to send messages to DND

customers who are not possible because it is not a legal act, our company was not ready for

that.

Recommendation

We tried to explain him about the legal action which can be taken against us and him if

he is going to use such service. We explained him everything but he was not ready. We also

decrease our price but this does not show any effect.

Result

Deal was not finalised.

Hotel Alaska was the new hotel which was going to open after some time. The hotel

was the part of the some old hotel chain.

hotel.

We tried to convince him by saying that we will provide the better service with less

price , and we also provide him the control panel which will help him to change the services

whenever he want .

The deal was not finalised, as he believe the service which he was receiving was very

good and he don’t want to switch over.

We tried to fix the meeting with his senior and tell him that we will send him all the

detail through mail .The meeting was arranged and we met his senior , we explained all the

detail about the product .They listen us very carefully and enquiry about many other things.

After all the conversation we asked them about their requirement, they need website for his

company but they already have finalised the deal with someone.

Result

Deal was not cracked.

CONCLUSION

After gone through all the cases I came to the conclusion that every company wants

economical product which suits to the company’s budget, full fills all the requirements and

work above the expectations.

Second thing is every company believes that investment should be less and output should be

more.

Every organization does not want to spend money from where they can’t receive any profit,

even for a short duration.

The organization wants quality services and user friendly products.

The organization doesn’t want to sell their products until they get higher profit.

RECOMMENDATION

According to the analysis of the cases I will recommend that the company should quote the

price according to the organization and their requirement. And they must provide the good

services and at the right time. We must also note down their all needs, demands, and

requirement and provide the services according to that, so that they can become our loyal and

profitable customer.

LIMITATION

1) We cannot force any one to bye our product, even the service was good.

2) The price and policy of the company cannot be disclosed in front of any one.

3) The price cannot be minimized according to the customer because of the quality service

we are providing.

I worked in the company as BDM (business development manager) in IT marketing

department. My work is to sell and promote the IT services which my company provide.

I should done my work much better then what I have done, when the company inform me the

exact price of the services, which can help me in dealing with the customer. The company

should provide the actual price of the services and the policy.

We can gain more experience if we have visited big organization and experience people,

because while dealing with them we can gain the knowledge and experience much better way

because of the knowledge they are already having due to experience they obtained during

these years.

This experience can help me in my placement and also when I am working in the

organization. Because training provide us the environment and culture of the organization

which we are going to face in the organization.
