MORE THAN 7000 VISITORS SQUEEZED THROUGH THE AISLES OF THE 2018 ADF&PCD

ADF&PCD PARIS 2019 is looking set to be a very promising edition and there are already several encouraging signs.

On the one hand are the positive year-end results for 2018 in the packaging, aerosols and dispensing systems sector, and the forecasts for 2019 which appear favourable for professionals.

With less than three months to go before their launch, the ADF and PCD trade shows that will be held in Paris Porte de Versailles on 30 and 31 January 2019 demonstrate a strong growth trend and thus continue to bring together all key players.

Following its success, the trade show is expanding and will be held in Pavilion 7.2 on the 2nd floor.

Thanks to the arrangements made by the organiser for this trade show and its close collaboration with all exhibitors throughout the preparatory phases, the stage is now set for a hugely successful new edition.

Everything is in place to meet the needs of exhibitors and provide them with the assistance and comfort necessary for them to participate effectively.

Finally, and above all, ADF&PCD PARIS is now the sector’s key event as it guarantees that you will not only meet the biggest number of buyers in the perfume and cosmetics sector, but also in the pharmaceutical, food, wine and spirits, and automotive sectors, among others.

Thinking today what will be the products and solutions of tomorrow — this is the motto of ADF&PCD PARIS 2019. A real hotbed of innovation, the trade show draws visitors’ attention to the sector’s most striking innovations.

What to remember a few weeks prior to the launch:

g ADF&PCD PARIS 2019 is a unique concept that groups together two highly synergistic events. Still in pole position, this first packaging event of the year is indisputably the global professional reference event on innovation in packaging, aerosols and dispensing systems.

g Every year it brings together all players in the perfume and cosmetics sector, but also in the pharmaceutical, food, wine and spirits, and automotive sectors, among others...

g Each of the trade shows features new exhibitors and industry leaders:

This year 98 exhibitors have registered for ADF, 413 have registered for PCD with 53 suppliers across the two trade shows, including more than 100 new exhibitors

g For this 2019 edition, the sector’s trade show leader, ADF&PCD PARIS, adopts an approach that is geared towards Made in France, with an even greater focus on sustainable development and the showcasing of innovations.

g The visitor experience has also been redesigned to facilitate and promote the numerous exchanges set to take place over these two days.

This event is therefore preparing to welcome more than 600 exhibitors and nearly 8000 visitors during the two days of the trade show, which is driven once again this year by a growing market.

Marking the 15th edition of PCD and the 13th edition of ADF!

2. INTERVIEW

ADF&PCD PARIS 2018

How is the 2019 edition of ADF&PCD PARIS looking?

ADF&PCD PARIS has been fully booked for several months and requests to participate keep climbing. Faced with this high demand, the exhibition area has been increased to allow new companies to participate and exhibit their solutions in 2019.

We are expecting nearly 600 exhibitors, from more than 30 countries. I took up my duties as ADF&PCD Portfolio Director a few months ago. With over 15 years’ experience managing industrial trade shows around the world, I am here to use my international experience to reinforce Easyfairs’ packaging division to ensure the continued existence of existing trade shows whose success has already been proven, and to develop new satellites.

Talking to brand managers, buyers and suppliers of packaging solutions, it would seem that this success and the growing demands are on account of the excellent environment in which to do business.

Brands actively seek out service and product suppliers and then use all these contacts that they made on-site to meet their needs.

With more than 19,000 m2 of exhibition space, 600 exhibitors and 8000 visitors expected, ADF&PCD Paris looks set to be a great gathering.

A major event acclaimed by the profession!

Companies continue to trust us and are increasingly likely to want to be part of this entire sector’s preferred forum for exchange as ADF&PCD PARIS is the place where we find all the industry’s trends.

All the lights are green! Business is buoyant in the packaging and aerosol sector.

After all the previous successful editions, what are the future developments that will make it possible to further advance this trade show, and what are the highlights?

As the trade show is growing very quickly, we are increasingly looking to implement tools and actions that promote the sourcing experience for our visitors and help all exhibitors find the right buyers. The trade show is a valuable source of information that allows visitors to manage their future packaging needs. The range is very comprehensive, encompassing glass, plastic, dispensing, decoration and more. The conferences are highly targeted and the establishment of two separate trade shows facilitates visits and contacts.

Any specific features for 2019?

For this 2019 edition, we are offering new features in order to enhance the experience of on-site visitors. This will be the case at the trade show itself, and also outside the trade show, via the website and social networks between two editions. All visitors can personalise their programme and prepare their arrival, route, and meetings at the trade show in advance.

Tell us about the ADF Awards and the PCD Awards.

This industry is very avant-garde and is always looking to find new solutions to attract consumers. That’s also why a large number of players from other industries, who don’t work in the field of perfume and cosmetics, attend ADF&PCD PARIS each year to find new ideas, innovate, collaborate and create solutions adapted to their markets. The innovations presented as part of the ADF&PCD PARIS Awards reflect this mindset.

ADF&PCD PARIS is an international trade show: will there be many foreign participants again this year?

With 40% international visitors and 42% foreign exhibitors, we are organising a trade show that brings together a global offering and proposes a variety of solutions that meet all countries’ needs. Moreover, our exhibitors are aware of the international profile of our visitors and are increasingly better prepared to welcome these visitors.

Any closing remarks?

I would like to tell visitors: “Everything has been done to prepare your visit so that it goes as well as possible. So take the time to come to discover ADF&PCD PARIS next January”.

A conference format and content that meets visitor expectations, focused on interactivity to enable them to learn and exchange more thanks to redesigned formats in the form of expert round tables, for the PCD part.

This presentation will address the fascinating question of the double dimension of packaging, both "objectifiable/factual" on the criteria of functionality, innovation, aesthe-tic codes and "subjective/emotional" from which emerges sensoriality, emotion and affect. 5. ADF AWARDS AND PCD AWARDS

An ADF Award and PCD Award presentation ceremony — a highlight that has been eagerly awaited by brands and suppliers rewarding the year’s most outstanding innovative launches, will be taken to a new level.

We have received around one hundred applications including the biggest and most notable launches of the year!

Each year, the supreme award is bestowed by two separate juries composed of brand representatives, experts in packaging, aerosols and dispensers and professional journalists.

Their mission: to designate and identify the best products in their category from the competing creations.

Rewarding 2018’s most notable products, the Awards highlight innovative packaging of cosmetic products as well as aerosols and dispensing systems of manufacturers in different categories:

For PCD Awards g Personal hygiene, g Hair products, g Make-up, g Skincare, g Perfume, g Limited edition and sustainable development.

For ADF Awards g Hygiene, g Household products, g Pharmaceutical, g Veterinary, g Food, g Industrial and technical applications.

The list of winners will be revealed at the very heart of the trade show, during a prize-giving ceremony in the presence of key brands and players in the packaging industry. The ceremony is always very eagerly awaited and well attended and is open to everyone, exhibitors and visitors alike.

All the communications put in place by the trade show organisers (social networks, website) will also pass on information regarding the awards of this 2019 edition.

I AM ICON is a new programme accessible only “by invitation”, which is exclusively reserved and dedicated to its members. Several times throughout the year it aims to bring together packaging experts in the field of perfumes, cosmetics, aerosols and dispensing systems to discuss topical issues related to these areas — but that’s not all. “The idea is to inspire the participants, and to be in contact with experts who are at the forefront of these topics, to be able to discuss and network” explains Christelle ANYA, Director of the ADF&PCD Paris trade show and the ICON Club.

I AM ICON members benefit from VIP benefits and privileged access to ADF&PCD events organised around the world
