Puma – Balotelli, Fabregas & Henry

• This advert was aired on January 20th 2015• The content of this advert simple. The style and form of the advert was simple because it

showed 2 footballs showing what these two types of boots can do by kicking them through and around targets.

• These 3 celebrities were chosen because they are sponsored by the company and because they are footballers who signed a contract to Puma to wear their products in football or in press conferences, they are obligated to promote what product Puma create at any given moment. They appeal to the target audience because they are world class footballers that everyone knows and the product that they promoted were football boots so the boots that were promoted, people will now buy because they want to be world class.

• The overall message of the advert is if you buy these football boots, you will have the ability to hit the ball with power or precision (due to the fact that only two different types of boots were promoted.) The celebrities fit in with the message of the advert by representing the different types of style of boots. Mario Balotelli represents power as he is known to strike a ball with so much power, Cesc Fabregas represents precision as he known to pass the ball with great accuracy and Thierry Henry as the timekeeper because he is a legend in football.

• The message wouldn’t be different if they were replaced by normal people because they are still trying to sell the message that these boots will make you do great things

• The status of the celebrities does have an influence on sales because they are seen wearing the boots on tv and they are being promoted on tv, the audience will buy the boots.

Cheryl Cole – L’Oreal• This advert was aired on Arpil 14th 2014• The content of the advert was simple. The style and form of the advert was simple

because it shows Cheryl Cole dancing and whipping her hair and words describing what the hair product does around her.

• The celebrity was chosen for this advert because she is known in the media as a model, singer, entrepreneur and television personality and since she is on tv so much, the audience would want to buy the product.

• The overall message of the advert of the advert is that if you buy this product, your hair will look great. The celebrity fits in the message with the message because her hair looks great and since she is also a model, she sells the message aswell.

• The message wouldn’t be different if the celebrity was replaced with a real person because it still shows the hair being transformed from flat hair to great, bouncy hair.

• The status of the celebrity has an influence on sales because may women dream of having great and bouncy hair and when they see a famous celebrity who promotes a product like this, women will buy the product in hoping to have great hair.

EE – Kevin Bacon• The advert was aired on February 25th 2015.• The content was simple. The style and form was humour as Kevin Bacon

arrives to Steven and Chris’ house on a helicopter, talks about the features of the TV box and leaves their house in Chris’ pink short shorts.

• The celebrity was chosen to be in the advert because since he a relatively old celebrity, the audience that is targeted in the advert is relatively old as well between the ages of 25 – 35 (which is just old enough for people to know who Kevin Bacon is) and that target audience will instantly buy the product.

• The overall message of the advert is that you can get movies and TV shows on demand. Kevin Bacon and Steven & Chris fits in the message of the advert because Kevin Bacon focus more on the film features (since he is an actor) and Steven & Chris focus more on the TV features (since they are TV addicts)

• The message wouldn’t be different if the celebrity was replaced by a real person because there are two real people beside him still talking about the features of the box.

• The status of the celebrity does have an influence on sales because EE was not selling that many products before Kevin Bacon came and when he did come, EE products have been sold more than before and EE even made a TV box to be sold and they used Kevin Bacon to persuade the audience into buying it.

Samsung Galaxy – Seth Rogen & Paul Rudd

• The advert was aired 3rd February 2013• The advert content was simple. The style and form of the advert was humour

because there were jokes and insults being flung around the whole advert.• These two celebrities were chosen to be in it because they are two people in the

comedy world and if you put humour into adverts, then the adverts will be more memorable. They appeal to the target audience (20 – 30) because they are comedians and the jokes and insults that were told, only that audience understood what it means.

• The overall message is that the Samsung Galaxy phone has great features. The celebrities fit into the message of the advert because since they are comedians, the jokes and insults that were told were referred to the features of the phone e.g. camera features.

• The message wouldn’t be different if the celebrities were replaced by normal people because the features of the Samsung Galaxy, would still have been showed or referred to.

• The status of the celebrity does have impact on sales because it gets their products more recognition. However it depends on how high the status of the celebrity is.
